    • PURPOSE: To facilitate the production of a core of an intricate shape having high hardness by putting green sand into a pressure die and precompressing the green sand in the pressure die by using a liquid pressure press, then subjecting the green sand to finish compressing. CONSTITUTION: An upper die tool 8 of a liquid pressure press 1 has an intricate die cavity 9 and a groove hole 11 communicating with the die cavity 9. The die cavity 9 is arranged at the peripheral edge of the die tool 8. At the time of production of the core, the liquid pressure press 1 allows the use of the green sand 12 as molding sand. The green sand 12 is first precompressed by the pressure die 6 and is then subjected to finish compression after the precompression. The green sand 12 can, then, be completely packed into the intricate die cavity 9 in such a manner. At this time, the green sand 12 is sucked through the groove hole 11 before the precompression in the intricate die cavity 9, by which a packing effect is maximized. Pressure air is fed into the groove hole 11 after the pressurizing step to assist the parting of the pressed articles or the core.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the inner circumferential welding beads from being formed by causing the temperature gradient lowering from the outer to the inner circumference on the tubular end portions to be welded by radiated heat and adjusting both tubular end portions to have the end portions junctioned. CONSTITUTION: A rotary heating mirror plate 3 is disposed within the distance D1 capable of radiating heat and adjusting the heat for the tubular end portion. The tubular end portion has an inclined surface 10 from the tubular outer circumference 11 to the inner one 12. A shielding plate 4 is fixed on the heating mirror plate 3 at certain intervals therebetween so that the plate 4 can be replaced, and the outer diameter of the heating mirror plate almost matches to the inner diameter of the tube to be welded. The temperature T2 at the inner end portion 14 is as approximate to the melting temperature TS as possible and the temperature T1 is lower than the maximum allowable melting temperature TS. The temperature gradient TE is determined by heat output, heating time, distance D adjustment, inclined surface 10 change and/or diameter and position of the shielding plate 4. The tubular materials 1a and 1b are welded by displacing the tubular material 1a to the arrow 7 direction via a clamp device 2a. The inner end portion 14 of the melting zone 15 does not bulge at all or bulges only a little and the welding beads are not formed in most cases.
