摘要： A radiosurgical method for treating cardiorenal disease of a patient, the method including directing radiosurgery radiation from outside the patient towards one or more target treatment regions encompassing sympathetic ganglia of the patient so as to inhibit the cardiorenal disease. In an exemplary embodiment, the method further includes acquiring three dimensional planning image data encompassing the first and second renal arteries, planning an ionizing radiation treatment of first and second target regions using the three dimensional planning image data so as to mitigate the hypertension, the first and second target regions encompassing neural tissue of or proximate to the first and second renal arteries, respectively, and remodeling the target regions by directing the planned radiation from outside the body toward the target regions.

摘要： A target motion simulator system for use in verifying target tracking with a radiation therapy device. The system comprises a radiation detection target coupled to a first motion actuator simulating a first motion of a first tissue and a fiducial coupled to a second motion actuator simulating a second motion of a second tissue offset from the first tissue, a component of the first motion being asynchronous with the second motion. A synthetic physiological signal generator is synchronized with the component of the first motion, wherein an output signal from the generator, in combination with a sensed position of the fiducial, may be used by the radiation therapy device in tracking the target.

In one form an eccentric sleeve c has secured in it one end of a sleeve d enclosing springs e, and an adjustable plunger i for transmitting the motion of the sleeve c to the springs. The springs transmit their motion to the pump ram b by means of a plunger f, the stroke of which is controlled by a wedge g under governor control, whereby the length and duration of the stroke of the ram b is controlled. An arm m is provided for hand actuation. In a modification, the eccentric a is replaced by a cam, and the sleeve c by a sliding member carrying the plunger i. In another form, a cam actuates a lever in contact with a member carrying the plunger i. The springs also act as a safety device.

To govern the lift of, or the time of opening or closing, the inlet or exhaust valves of internal-combustion engines, a pair of cams c, d, having different contours, are mounted on the half-speed shaft b and give motion to the valve through the combined action of the push-pieces e, f, the connecting-piece j, and a lever p carrying a knife-edge n which engages the teeth on the connecting-piecej. The position of the lever p is adjusted by a centrifugal governor which actuates a rod 30 for operating the disk 27 carried by the lever, by spring-controlled arms carried by a bracket on the rod. Several valves may be operated by a single rod 30, or if preferred separate rods may be used and be connected to a common governor.
