摘要： The present invention may be used in systems and methods for brine treatment scaling control in a water treatment system. A concentrated brine stream influent may be treated in an electrodialysis-reversal process to produce a concentrated brine stream effluent and a lower salinity diluent water, which may be potable water effluent. The concentrated brine stream effluent may be processed in a brine treatment scaling control system that may have a mixing vessel and a membrane filter with the mixing vessel seeded with calcium sulfate. A lowered salinity brine stream effluent may be produced for return to the electrodialysis-reversal process to allow operation at greater overall recovery and an elevated concentrated brine stream may be produced.

摘要： The anoxic biological reduction system and method for treating wastewater may be an anoxic biological reduction element (90) disposed in a membrane anaerobic stabilization system. The wastewater (100) may be treated to produce an effluent suitable for membrane filtration with the treating incorporating processes substantially free of aerobic biological treatment. The effluent may be filtered through a membrane element (30) selected from the group consisting of a microfiltration system and an ultrafiltration system or a combination thereof. The membrane effluent may be then be treated in an anoxic biological reduction element (90) to produce a process effluent stream (94).

摘要： A pulling system for pulling or moving a large object, such as pulling components of an offshore oil/gas production platform onto an adjacent barge that is subsequently transported to the installation site. This pulling system incorporates a single elongated rod that is connected between the object to be moved and a puller unit that pulls the object along a track. During operation, the puller unit causes a gripping unit to grip the rod so that the puller unit can move the object. Afterwards, the gripping unit releases its engagement of the rod, repositions itself with respect to the rod, and regrips the rod so that movement of the object may again be initiated by the puller unit.

摘要： 960,724. Tipping dustbins into refuse vehicles. JOHN GIBSON & SON Ltd. Feb. 5, 1963 [Nov. 6, 1961; July 2, 1962], Nos. 39598/61 and 25200/62. Heading B8E. Bins are re-used and tipped into a vehicle by a cradle which supports a plurality of bins and which is raised in guides to discharge the bins into a rear opening normally sealed by a panel. An apron is provided to cover each bin on the cradle. The cradle 15 has rollers 16a running in guides 13, and is raised by a cable 24 operated by a winch 26. Further rollers mounted on the cradle 15 enter curved guides 13b when the rollers 16a enter the ends 13a of the guides 13 so that the bin is discharged into the vehicle opening normally sealed by a panel 27. The cradle has a platform 20, a vertical wall 21 and triangular side walls 22 and is provided with pairs of arms 30, 30a mounting a flexible rubber or like apron 32 to cover each bin 33 whatever its height. The arms 30, 30a are pivoted to brackets 29 and have pivotally attached thereto arms 34 provided with rollers 38 running in channels of beams 37 extending between members of the cradle. Springs 36 normally hold the arms 34 down so that the arms 30, 30a hold the apron 32 over the mouth of the bin but when the cradle is lowered from the dotted line position shown to its lowest position stops 35 contact the arms 34 so that the apron 32 is raised to allow removal and replacement of a bin. As the cradle is raised and tipped rollers 30b on the arms 30, 30a contact the plate 27 to open it and the vehicle opening is then sealed by contact of the platform 20 and side walls 21.
