    • A transition channel for a turbine unit with at least two components is configured as a flow channel from one component of a first pressure to a component of a second pressure. The transition channel has support ribs, extending between envelope surfaces of the transition channel and having a profile that is configured for the deflecting of a flow from an inlet cross section to an outlet cross section of the transition channel. Flow splitter blades are arranged between the support ribs, having a smaller relative profile thickness than the support ribs and/or a shorter axial design depth or profile chord length than the support ribs. Thanks to the integration of the slim and/or short flow splitter blades (tandem blades), it is possible to largely dissipate parasite secondary flows.

    • 266,676. Engel, K. Feb. 27, 1926, [Convention date]. Darning.-The ends of a belt or of several belts of the same weave are connected by working the warp threads of the ends to be connected alternately on to a series of bars spaced apart by the distance of the weft threads and splicing each warp to the associated warp of the other end and then drawing a weft thread through the spaces occupied by the bars as these are withdrawn. The bars or needles d have an eye at each end and are supported between clamping bars a, b in a position adjacent to the overlapped ends o, p of the belt portions to be connected. Combs f , pivotally mounted at h on the clamping bars, space the needles apart at the distances of the weft threads n of the belt ends. The weft threads are cut along the edges of the belt-ends opposite to the needles and a warp thread o1 from one belt end is worked on to the needles in the same conformation as it had with respect to the weft threads, the end being spliced or knotted as at q to the corresponding warp thread p1 of the belt end p which has been detached. The second warp thread p2 of the belt end p is then worked on to the needles and spliced at r to the detached warp thread o2. When all the warp threads have been worked on to the needles the needles are released from the clamp and the end needle is threaded and withdrawn, thus introducing a weft thread which is threaded into the next needle. This is then drawn out in the opposite direction and so on until the introduction of the weft is completed.
