    • An automatic steering control performs an automatic parking control which automatically steers steerable wheels of a vehicle, without requiring a driver to perform steering wheel operation, such that the actual steering angle of the steerable wheels follows a changing target steering angle, whereby the vehicle is moved to a target parking state. When the actual steering angle fails to follow the target steering angle because of insufficiency of the steering drive force of a steering actuator, a braking force difference imparting control is performed so as to apply a predetermined braking force on the steerable wheel located inside a target vehicle locus. As a result, a steering moment is generated in the steerable wheels. This steering moment serves as a force for compensating for the insufficiency of the steering drive force of the steering actuator. As a result, the actual steering angle accurately follows the target steering angle.

    • The present invention intends to provide a surface combustion burner which can permit high intensity combustion at the burner surface by preventing the occurrence of a lift phenomenon of flames due to whirling of air from the peripheral portion of the surface combustion burner. To this end, a mixing chamber positioned rearwardly of a porous member having its front surface constituting a combustion surface is divided by a partition wall into a first mixing chamber positioned at a central portion and a second mixing chamber positioned to surround the first mixing chamber so that fuel gas mixtures at different air ratios are supplied to the first and second mixing chambers, respectively, and/or the porous member having its front surface serving as the combustion surface has a resistance against the flow velocity of fuel gas mixture which is higher at a peripheral edge nearby region than at the remaining region.

    • A seat belt winding apparatus with a rotation detection unit, for detecting a rotation of a belt winder shaft, and a driving unit, controlled by a detection signal from the rotation detection unit so as to apply a winding force to the belt winder shaft.When the seat belt is pulled by a passenger and a buckle is coupled with a tongue, the driving unit is controlled so that a rotational position of the belt winder shaft in a winding termination state is stored in a storage unit as a reference rotational position, thus establishing a correspondence between a reference rotational position and a count in the storage unit.In the belt fastened state, when the rotational position of the belt winder shaft is shifted from the reference rotational position, the shifted rotational position of the belt winder shaft is compared with the reference rotational position. The belt winder shaft is driven by the driving unit in accordance with the comparison result so as to return the belt winder shaft to the reference rotational position in the belt fastening state. Meanwhile, when the rotational position of the belt winder shaft is shifted from the reference rotational position by the pull-out operation of the seat belt in the condition that the seat belt is not worn by the passenger and the tongue and buckle are not coupled, the winder shaft is driven only in a winding direction so as to return to a reference rotational position in the retracted state.

    • An after glow control system for an engine, which controlls the voltage to be applied to glow plugs of the engine, is disclosed. The system comprises a first electric path through which a voltage is applied from a battery to glow plugs during the preheating period and a second electric path which is connected to the first electric path in parallel and through which a voltage is applied from the battery to the glow plugs during the after glow period. In the second electric path, a voltage dropping circuit of a switching type is provided. The voltage dropping circuit is provided with a switching means between the battery and the glow plugs and a switching control circuit which controls the opening and closing period of the switching means. The switching control circuit is provided with a set voltage generating circuit and a comparator which compares the output voltage of the voltage dropping circuit with the set voltage generated by the set voltage generating circuit and controls the opening and closing period of the switching means so as to keep the voltage to be applied to the glow plugs nearly equal to the set voltage. The set voltage generating circuit can be provided with a means for selecting a set voltage in accordance with the engine temperature.
