    • According to one embodiment, a magnetic disc apparatus includes a magnetic head which reads information stored in a magnetic disc, an arm which supports the magnetic head, and a feedback controller which controls a coarse actuator to move the magnetic head above the magnetic disc by driving the arm, a fine actuator to hold a position of the magnetic head, and a feedback path which feeds back a displacement of the actuator to a target value of the coarse actuator. The feedback controller controls decoupling of a double actuator system which adds up the coarse actuator and the fine actuator.

    • A method and an apparatus for analyzing the vibration of the housing of a disk device are disclosed, in which the residual vibration of the housing can be accurately detected for protection against vibrations by determining the transfer function of the rotational acceleration of the housing. The vibration of the housing of the disk device attributable to a head actuator built into a computer or constituting a disk device housed in a locker is detected in such a manner that a random seek current is supplied to the head actuator from an external source, the transfer function of the rotational acceleration of the housing obtained from at least n acceleration sensor mounted on the housing is determined for each frequency, the spectrum of the random seek current supplied to the head actuator is multiplied by the transfer function of the housing, the resulting product is integrated twice thereby to convert the rotational acceleration into a displacement, the converted value of displacement thus obtained is multiplied by the servo follow-up error characteristic of the head actuator thereby to determine the power spectrum of the residual vibration in the frequency domain. The power spectrum is subjected to an inverse Fourier transformation thereby to detect the oscillation of the head with respect to time.

    • A rotary moving coil actuator in a disk drive selectively positions a read/write head with respect to disk medium. A carriage is pivotable about an axis and has a carriage arm for supporting the head. A pair of magnets, disposed in spaced relationship within a magnetic yoke structure, have spaced flat faces perpendicular to the axis and define a gap therebetween. A flat coil structure, comprising one or a pair of flat coils, is attached to the carriage and disposed at least in part within the gap between the opposing flat faces of the magnets so as to be movable along a stroke of movement relatively thereto. The flat coil structure in cooperation with the magnets, generates a driving force in a direction approximately parallel to a first line which is perpendicular to the axis and passes through the axis and toward the read/write head and thereby substantially perpendicular to the seek direction of the head.

    • A first component defines a threaded bore. A second component is kept in contact with the first component. A clamping screw penetrates through the second component and is screwed in the threaded bore. A lubricating agent film is interposed between the threaded bore and the clamping screw. The lubricating agent film is made of a macromolecular compound having a polar end group. The lubricating agent film serves to reduce the friction between the threaded bore and the clamping screw. Generation of dust is prevented when the clamping screw is being screwed into the threaded bore. In addition, the clamping screw exhibits a larger axial force at a certain amount of a fastening torque as compared with a conventional clamping screw. A larger axial force can thus be applied to hold the second component onto the first component.
