摘要： A developing apparatus is used in an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. Developing units form corresponding developer images. A frame holds the developing units therein in position so that the developing units are movable independently by a distance relative to the frame. An urging member is disposed across the frame and each developing unit and urges each developing unit against the frame. An elastic sealing member secured to the frame and in intimate contact with each of the developing units when the corresponding developing unit is attached to the frame. The sealing member seals a gap between the frame and each of the developing unit.

摘要： A toner cartridge holds toner therein and is attached into an image forming apparatus. The toner cartridge has a mounting construction with a rotary member that is rotated about an axis to a position where the toner is discharged into the image forming apparatus. The mounting construction includes first and second engagement portions. The first engagement portion is formed on the rotary member, extending at an angle with the axis. The second engagement portion is formed on the image forming apparatus. When the toner cartridge is placed in the image forming apparatus, and is rotated in a first direction, the first engagement portion slides on the second engagement portion so that the toner cartridge is displaced in a second direction parallel to the axis.

摘要： A toner cartridge has a toner chamber, agitator, damper, and position indicator. The agitator is disposed in the toner chamber and is free to rotate. The agitator is pushed to rotate and agitate the toner. The position indicator attached to the agitator and indicates a rotational position of the agitator. The damper is disposed in a path through which the agitator rotates, the damper defining an angular range through which the agitator rotates while the position indicator is detected by an external device. When the agitator rotates freely into the angular range, the damper damps the motion of the agitator. The damper is formed of a resilient film material and is bent into a base portion, and a raised portion base portion is fixed to an inner surface of the toner chamber and the raided portion extends into the path.
