    • An apparatus for controlling an operation of a reciprocating compressor includes a voltage detecting unit for detecting a positive half-wave voltage of an AC voltage applied to a motor of the reciprocating compressor; a current detecting unit for detecting a positive half-wave current of the AC current passing through the motor; a voltage and current estimating unit for estimating a negative half-wave voltage of the AC voltage applied to the motor and a negative half-wave current of the AC current passing through the motor based on the detected positive half-wave voltage and the detected positive half-wave current; a stroke estimating unit for estimating a stroke of the reciprocating compressor based on the detected positive half-wave voltage and the detected positive half-wave current and the negative half-wave voltage and the negative half-wave current which have been estimated by the voltage and the current estimating unit; a stroke controller for outputting a stroke control signal of the reciprocating compressor based on a comparison value between the estimate stroke estimate value and a stroke reference value of the reciprocating compressor; and a power source unit for applying positive DC power to the voltage detecting unit and the current detecting unit.

    • Disclosed is an apparatus for controlling a driving of a reciprocating compressor and a method thereof, in which a cooling capacity is decreased without a re-expansion loss by controlling a driving of a compressor used in a refrigerator by using a current offset when the cooling capacity of a refrigerator is varied. To this end, in the compressor which controls the cooling capacity by varying an inner stroke according to a stroke reference value set by a user, the apparatus comprises a storage unit for storing a current offset value corresponding to a cooling capacity variable amount; an adding unit for adding the current offset value to a current value applied to the compressor in accordance with that the cooling capacity is varied by a user; a microcomputer for generating a switching control signal corresponding to the current value added from the adding unit; and a power supply unit for controlling a driving of the compressor by applying the added current to the compressor under a dependent state on the switching control signal.

    • An apparatus and method for controlling an operation of a reciprocating compressor are disclosed. The apparatus for controlling an operation of a reciprocating compressor includes: a current phase delay value generating unit that calculates a current phase delay value by using a current stroke and a detected current and outputting the calculated current phase delay value; and a reference current generating unit that delays a reference current based on a difference between the current stroke and a stroke reference value according to the current phase delay value. A phase difference between a current and a pulse width modulation (PWM) voltage is estimated, a phase delay value for compensating the estimated phase difference is calculated, and a reference current is delayed as much as the calculated phase delay value for a certain time to thus remove a current distortion phenomenon. Therefore, an operation efficiency of the reciprocating compressor can be enhanced and a precision degree in controlling a top dead center (TDC) can be improved.

    • An apparatus for controlling an operation of a reciprocating compressor, includes: a control unit for detecting a current pushed amount of a piston when a TDC is detected as an inflection point of a phase difference between stroke and current, comparing the current pushed amount with a pushed amount reference value, and applying a DC voltage applied to a linear motor based on the comparison result.
