The flashlight (100) may include a light source (129), a power source having a charge level, a housing (110) defining a major axis along which the housing (110) extends, an adjustable ring (140) disposed about the housing 110), where the adjustable ring (140) is configured to be rotated between at least two positions, where each of the at least two positions define a different mode of operation, and a switch (150) located proximate the barrel (115), where the switch (150) is configured to turn the flashlight (100) on and off. The adjustable ring (140) may include a magnet, where the housing (110) includes a Hall effect sensor (290), where the at least two positions of the adjustable ring (140) are recognized by the position of the magnet (280) relative to the Hall effect sensor (290).

One embodiment of the present invention provides a device for supporting a light emitting diode, comprising an LED circuit board including a first principal plane and a second principal plane. The first principal plane can include a first contact pad and a second contact pad, and the first contact pad and the second contact part are respectively constituted to receive respective connectors from the LED. The second principal plane of the LED circuit board can include a first region, a second region and a third region, and a substrate is mounted to the LED circuit board in the entire third region.

An example light emitting apparatus may include: a redirector disposed about an axis, the redirector having a first end and a second end, where the first end is narrower than the second end, the redirector defining a cavity between the first end and the second end; a power source at least partially disposed within the cavity defined by the redirector; and a light source disposed around the first end of the redirector about the axis, where the light source is powered by the power source and is configured to project light substantially parallel to the axis, toward the second end of the redirector. The redirector may include a frustoconical shape.
