The low load fuser member includes a soft, low durometer and thermally non-conductive first elastomeric material member for forming a relatively large fusing nip at a relatively low load; a second and thermally conductive elastomeric material forming an intermediate layer over the first elastomeric material member; and a toner image release layer formed over the intermediate layer for facilitating release of fused toner images.

摘要： The method of fusing thermoplastic resin toner images to a substrate in a fuser including a heated thermally stable FKM hydrofluoroelastomer fusing surface at elevated temperature prepared in the absence of anchoring sites for a release agent of heavy metals, heavy metal oxides, or other heavy metal compounds forming a film of a fluid release agent on the elastomer surface of an amino functional oil having the formula: ##STR1## where 50.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.200, p is 1 to 5, and R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are alkyl or arylalkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sub.4 is an alkyl or arylalkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms and a polyorganosiloxane chain having 1 to 100 diorganosiloxy repeat units, and R.sub.5 is hydrogen, alkyl or arylalkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, the oil having sufficient amino functionality per active molecule to interact with the hydrofluoroelastomer surface in the absence of a heavy metal and heavy metal anchoring sites to provide an interfacial barrier layer to the toner and a low surface energy film to release the toner from the surface; contacting the toner image on the substrate with the filmed heated elastomer surface to fuse the toner iage to the substrate and permitting the toner to cool.

摘要： A fuser member comprised of a supporting substrate comprising an outer layer of a volume grafted elastomer, which is a substantially uniform integral interpenetrating network of a hybrid composition of a fluoroelastomer and a polyorganosiloxane, said volume graft having been formed by dehydrofluorination of said fluoroelastomer by a nucleophilic dehydrofluorinating agent, followed by addition polymerization by the addition of an alkene or alkyne functionally terminated polyorganosiloxane and a polymerization initiator; and wherein said outer layer contains a reactive metal oxide in an amount of from about 2 to about 7 weight percent.

摘要： An apparatus in which a range of differing weight copy sheets are advanced from a processing station of an electrophotographic printing machine. At the processing station, developed images are transferred from a moving image bearing member to copy sheets. The copy sheets are separated from the image bearing member with a light weight copy sheet being separated from the image bearing member at a first position. Heavier weight copy sheets are separated from the image bearing member at other positions. The first position is after the other positions in the direction of movement of the image bearing member. A guide is provided for guiding the heavier weight copy sheets onto the sheet transport with the light weight copy sheet being received on the sheet transport without contacting the guide.
