摘要： Systems, methods, and devices for generating synthetic genomic datasets and validating bioinformatic pipelines for genomic analysis are disclosed. In preferred embodiments, synthetic maternal and paternal datasets with known variants are used with matched normal synthetic datasets to validate various bioinformatic pipelines. Bioinformatic pipelines are evaluated using the synthetic datasets to assess design changes and improvements. Accuracy, PPV, specificity, sensitivity, reproducibility, and limit of detection of the pipelines in calling variants in synthetic datasets is reported.

摘要： A motion detection monitor for patient movement, comprising a sensor for providing signals in response to patient movement to provide an alarm under predetermined conditions of patient movement. A processor, including an oscillator, is provided for receiving signals from the sensor, to provide oscillator interrupt signals proportional to active signals. The interrupt signals are observed within a contiguous series at time windows. The alarm condition is satisfied when interrup signals are detected within each window. The sensor preferably includes a conductive sphere in a cylinder having an interior portion locating the sphere therein with conductive end plates and conductive inner surfaces, the inner surfaces being tapered to direct the sphere to an at rest condition in contact with at least one surface and at least a part of the inner surface in any orientation of the sensor. The motion detection device further includes jumper circuits for adjusting the parameters used to distinguish from casual motion and for providing a visible alarm. The motion detection device further includes a remote, tetherless receiver for receiving the alarm signal, the transmitter means repeatedly providing the alarm signal over a periodic interval until the processor is reset by an operator. The visible alarm is pulsed with relatively short pulses sufficient to activate the alarm, the short pulses being less than sufficient to activate the receiver.

摘要： An exhalation valve (100) for use in an underwater breathing device, such as a snorkel is disclosed. The valve (100) is configured to produce positive end-expiratory pressure in the airway of a user of the underwater breathing device in order to reduce the overall work of underwater breathing. The valve (100) includes a plate (120) defining an exhalation port (132) and also includes a flexible membrane (130) that is sealable against a surface of the plate and is sized and positioned to be capable of sealing the exhalation port (132). The flexible membrane (130) is configured to have a sealed position in which the flexible membrane (130) seals the exhalation port (132) such that substantially no exhaled air escapes the snorkel. The flexible membrane (130) is also configured to have an unsealed position in which exhaled air escapes the snorkel. The valve plate (120) is substantially rigid and substantially disc shaped.

摘要： Methods are provided for automatic cleaning of gripper belts and rollers within a self-service dispensing device. In an embodiment, a cleaning station located in a storage bin of the dispensing device is used to perform the automatic cleaning. The cleaning station is retrofitted into an existing storage bin of the dispensing device. In another embodiment, an interactive slot mechanism of the dispensing device is modified to hold a cleaning case and provide cleaning fluid to clean the belts and/or rollers. In another embodiment, a cleaning case contains a reservoir of cleaning fluid and a pad saturated with the cleaning fluid to clean the internal belts and roller. Furthermore the cleaning case may contain an automatic lid to maintain saturation of the pads and to keep debris from the cleaning case itself.
