    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite armor plate for dissipating kinetic energy of a shell since a pellet itself may damage an armor plate made of hard steel, when the composite armor plate is mounted as the additional protection member of the armor plate made of hard steel, such as an armored vehicle. SOLUTION: The composite armor plate contains a single inner layer of pellet combined in a plate shape by an elastic material for retention so that the pellets are combined in a plurality of columns and rows with an interval separately in the internal elastic material essentially. The pellet is formed by a ceramic material. The large part of each pellet is in direct contact with 6 adjacent pellets in the same layer for providing restriction in the traverse direction mutually. [Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A manicuring tool holder is provided with a chuck device for the attachment of various manicuring tools comprising a spindle 24, 24a rotatably mounted within a hand piece 19 and secured to a coupling member driven by a cable, the spindle having a hollowed portion formed with an inclined interior surface 28 on which is secured a flat spring 29 having an arched portion 32. The manicuring tools are provided with shanks 37, formed as at 39, 40 to engage the spring 29 as shown, and are mounted in a sleeve 33 which clips over the outer reduced portion of the hand piece. The tools to be employed include a buffing tool 36, Fig. 4, an emery disc 48, Fig. 8, and a cuticle pusher 68, Fig. 11. The emery disc is dished to receive a disc of abrasive 47 held in place by bayonet locking lugs 53. The pusher 69 is mounted on a cam-follower 72 movable within the sleeve 66 against the stress of a spring 74 by a cam 80 secured to a shank 37c, having the same chuck connection as the shank 37.
