摘要： A mount is for installing a probe, such as for example, a search coil, in a variety of locations and orientations within an electrical generator, without requiring the rotor of the generator to be removed. The mount includes a block having a longitudinal hole and a plurality of transverse slots intersecting the hole. A plurality of wedges are disposed within the slots. A wedge pin inserted into the longitudinal hole engages the wedges forcing the wedges outward in order to secure the mount and search coil thereon in the desired position within the generator, such as for example, in the air gap between the rotor and stator. A fastening mechanism further secures the mount in place.

摘要： The present invention provides a hydraulic active damping system to damp gears, thereby reducing the occurrence of gear rattle or noise. The active nature of the present invention will allow the drag within the bearing to which the gear mounts to be selectively increased, by pressurizing an enclosed or specialized bearing with fluid during critical events. The pressure within the specialized bearing is subsequently decreased, thereby only increasing the system drag at critical operating conditions. The present invention also provides a method of damping gears by introducing pressurized fluid into a specialized bearing and subsequently reducing the fluid pressure therein.

摘要： A system for creating an eye-movement record that is useful for diagnosing balance disorders of a patient includes a head-mounted unit having an indicator which generates head position signals. Also included is a computer/controller for progressing the patient through a sequence of predetermined head orientations. An imaging unit in the head-mounted unit is used to create an eye-movement record for each head orientation, and the records are then archived in a recorder. With instructions from the patient, a de-identified eye-movement record can be sent to selected regional specialists for further evaluation and possible treatment.

摘要： A sleeve for joining two pipes in end-to-end relationship has a deformable region at each end, each deformable region tapering axially towards the end of the sleeve and being separated from the major constant diameter portion of the sleeve by an external annular shoulder. The annular rear face of each shoulder forms a locating face for annular abutment faces of a deforming tool. The tool has pressure faces for applying a deforming force to each deformable region of the sleeve in turn so as to engage the pipe received within it. The pressure faces are prevented from axial displacement relative to the sleeve during a deforming operation by the mutual abutment of the annular locating faces of the sleeve and tool and the axial taper of the deformable region allows deformation of the sleeve to engage the pipe to take place within lateral buckling of the sleeve.
