      CONSTITUTION: Sintered hard strip material, especially high grade strip material is straightened by tension at a temperature range of 600W1,200°C. By this way, steep slope of stress-strain diagram of sintered hard steel becomes remarkably flat under the influence of high temperature, and stress-strain characteristics resembling to ordinary steel in cold state can be obtained for this sintered hard steel. Further, this method has merit of preventing occurrence of material hardening when the strip is pulled at a high temperature.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the sticking of solid particles to a wall surface by forming a layer of a material which is not wetted by a molten steel to the contact part between a refractory material and the molten steel.
      CONSTITUTION: The inside surface of the refractory material 2 forming the wall of an immersion nozzle 1 is coated with a layer 3 of boron nitride or the like which is not wetted by the molten steel. The boron nitride is formed by either chemical or physical vapor deposition. The wall of the material 2 is prevented from being wetted by the molten steel by the above-mentioned method and therefore the speed of the molten steel layer existing near the wall is made higher than zero. Thus the force of the flow of the molten steel overcomes the adhesive force and the sticking of solid particles to said wall is obviated.
