    • The invention concerns a method of imaging points in a video image using a light beam (40, 40', 64, 64') whose intensity is controlled as a function of the brightness of the points and which is deflected and then projected by a lens (63, 63') or a lens system (50) on to a screen (54). The invention calls for the lens (63, 63'), the lens system (50) or part (78) of the lens system (50) to have a variable focal length and, when the focal length is varied, the focal point on the object side to be maintained at a fixed point. The invention also concerns a device for imaging points in a video image on a screen (54) using a deflection device which deflects a light beam, whose intensity is controlled as a function of the brightness of the points, for line-scanning and picture scanning. The device has a lens (63, 63') or lens system (50) or part (78) of the lens system (50) being adjustable. Also fitted is a device which, when the focal length is varied, maintains the focal point of the lens (63, 63'), the lens system (50) or the part (78) of the lens system (50) on the object side at a fixed point.

    • A device producing an image on a screen (5) by illuminating picture elements in a plurality of partial images by means of light bundles (14,16). Said device presents at least one deflection device (10,12) to deflect several light bundles to picture elements respectively associated to individual partial images, as well as a control device (6,8) controlling the intensity of the light bundles (14,16) according to the brightness of each picture element that is to be illuminated, and a lens (20) located between the screen (5) and the deflection device (10,12) to deflect light bundles (14,16) to a partial image associated to each light bundle.
