摘要： Isothermal work piece holding system uses vibration-damping, low thermal conductivity, low TCE polymer-composite holding body(ies) to damp machine tool vibration and chatter while accurately, rigidly maintaining the work piece in position by vacuum and/or mechanical clamps during machining. Cooling fluid channels having high thermal conductivity plates in contact with the work piece transfer thermal energy to/from it to maintain it isothermal during machining, inspection and assembly, eliminating dimensional changes and increasing process repeatability. Minimizing chatter reduces cycle time and improves surface finish which eliminates manual re-work. The system employs vacuum and coolant fluid pumps, heater/cooler(s), temperature sensor(s) and controller(s) to achieve highly accurate dimensional tolerances machining of parts which reduces error stack-up and assembly costs. Isothermal fixtures are disclosed for assembling parts and automated rivet settings in precise locations with reduced use of shims. The inventive isothermal system is applicable to control of TCE/I2R effects in linear induction motors.

Coin action, with stationary coin forming abutments.-The drawer 7 of a coin-freed machine is locked by a sliding stop 6 having a tooth 5 to engage the teeth 6 of a rack 8 attached to the drawer, A coin, inserted through a shoot 1, runs along a sloping rail 9 carried by the drawer into an horizontal piece 2 carried by the shoot and open at its top and bottom. The coin rests on the rail under a projection 4 on the stop 3 and prevents it from engaging the teeth 6 as the drawer is pulled out. The coin drops as soon as the rail 9 clears it.

Toothed gearing.-In double-helical double reduction and other toothed gearing of the kind in which a driving-wheel 1 drives two or more wheels 2, 3, each wheel is connected to its shaft 5 by a torsion shaft or spring 9, which passes through the shaft 5 and is at one end 7 secured to the wheel and at the other end rigidly or slidably secured to the shaft end. The wheel is keyed so as to slide on the shaft 5 with rotary lost motion so that it can adjust itself axially and rotatably to the driving-stress, strain of the torsion shaft or spring being limited. The spring end 7 may slide axially on pins secured in the wheel body 4, or may be secured to the wheel rim 2, which has limited rotary freedom on the body 4. The shaft slides freely in its bearings 8 to permit correct engagement of the low-speed wheels 12, 14, and one bearing may be arranged between the wheels 2, 12 so that the wheel 2 is overhung.

摘要： A geothermal heat exchange apparatus is disclosed that includes a central conduit, a plurality of pipes, at least one fitting and a joint. The geothermal heat exchange apparatus is preassembled for insertion into a bore hole and for connection to a supply primary pipe and a return primary pipe that are in fluid communication with a heat pump. The geothermal heat exchange apparatus includes the plurality of pipes in a helical arrangement around the central conduit for geothermal heat exchange. The at least one fitting is fixedly connected to a first end portion of the central conduit in the bore hole.
