    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tactile feedback controller having variegated power of expression about tactile feedback, and also to provide a controlling method of the tactile feedback controller which is used suitably for such tactile feedback controller. SOLUTION: The tactile feedback controller 100 is a tactile feedback controller for performing control of an apparatus to be controlled, and is provided with a base 110, a cap 120, a piezo-electric motor 130, a rotation control device, and a rotation state detecting device. The tactile feedback controller 100 gives sufficiently big tactile feedback to the cap 120 even in the case of low-speed rotation of the cap 120 since the piezo-electric motor 130 by which big torque is obtained even in the case of low-speed is used. And a backlash does not exist since the base 110 and the cap 120 are fixed to a stator 140 and a rotor 150 of the piezo-electric motor 130, respectively. As the result, it is gone that the power of expression about the tactile feedback declines, and the tactile feedback controller having variegated power of expression about the tactile feedback is provided.     • A haptic feedback controller of the present invention includes: a pointing position detecting sensor which is arranged along a fingertip pointing path and detects a pointing position of a fingertip when a pointing operation is performed along the fingertip pointing path; a haptic feedback imparting device which has a piezoelectric element arranged along the fingertip pointing path and generates vibrations depending on a high frequency voltage when the voltage is applied thereto and an elastic body which is fixed to the piezoelectric element, and imparts predetermined haptic feedback to the fingertip due to vibrations generated by the piezoelectric element; and a piezoelectric element control device which controls the piezoelectric element based on feedback information outputted from controlled equipment. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a haptic feedback controller which is suitable for controlling controlled equipment in response to a pointing operation performed by a user with his/her fingertip and, at the same time, is suitable for equipment such as portable equipment deemed necessary to satisfy demand for reduction of thickness and miniaturization.
