SOLUTION: The iron recovery apparatus 10, recovering the iron contained in the water to be treated as the iron-containing flocculates by using the iron bacteria, comprises a water storage tank 11 storing the water to be treated 20, a recovery tank 12 accommodating a recovery member 14 on which iron-containing flocculates are stuck and formed, a circulating means 13 circulating the water to be treated between the tanks 11 and 12. The recovery member 14 is made by integrating string bodies 141 having a hair raised surface part and/or nonwoven fabric. An iron recovery method uses the iron recovery apparatus 10, and comprises the process for sticking and forming the iron-containing flocculates on the recovery member 14, and the process for recovering the iron-containing flocculates.
