摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the evaluation of the degree of enhancement in a woven fabric by a fluid providing an air flow through the woven fabric over a vacuum slot after enhancement by the fluid, performing calculation at a vacuum and at the measured value of air flow, and measuring the permeability of the woven fabric. SOLUTION: When a woven fabric 10 is passed over a roll 12, a plurality of pressurized jet steams 16 are brought to pass through the woven fabric 10 to entangle adjacent threads and reduce open spaces between chutes and warps (enhancement by a fluid). Immediately after the completion of this process, the permeability of the woven fabric 10 is continuously measured. In other words, the woven fabric 10 is passed over a vacuum roll 20 including a vacuum slot 22, and a vacuum control device 30 maintains the inside of the vacuum slot 22 at a constant vacuum by a throttle valve 26 or through the use of a velocity variable motor 32 related to a vacuum source 28. Then a flow meter 24 measures the air flow passing through the woven fabric 10 by the vacuum slot 22, and the vacuum control device 30 calculates the air flow per unit area of the woven fabric 10 which is defined as the permeability both at the vacuum of the vacuum slot 22 and at the measured value of air flow.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficiently and economically usable process for fluid treatment capable of essentially adding a proper improvement in quality with a fluid to a cloth material such as a woven cloth. SOLUTION: This hydroenhancement system is capable of delivering a cloth 12 to be treated from the first spool, then passing the cloth 12 through a hydroenhancing process with a pressure nozzle 22, an evacuating roll 20, etc., subsequently winding up the cloth 12 onto the second spool 30, reversibly revolving the process after treating the total length of the cloth 12, unwinding the cloth 12 from the second spool 30, performing the second treatment thereof, winding up the treated cloth 12 again on the first spool, reversibly revolving the process again and carrying out the second forward feeding treatment. The reciprocating type treatment is continued until a desired quality improvement attains. Measuring units 28 and 32 such as measurement of permeability are used to evaluate the hydroenhancement for every pass and parameters of the process are controlled on the basis thereof. The time of terminating the process is then determined.

A method of assembling a through-air apparatus for drying or bonding paper or non-woven products is also provided.

As heated air of the desired uniform temperature distribution is passed through ducting for transport to the material, the desired uniform temperature distribution deteriorates due to heat loss experienced at the walls of the ducting. Heating tape is implemented with respect to particular locations of ducting and selectively operated to maintain air traveling through the ducting at the desired uniform temperature distribution. Heat generated by the heating tape is used to counteract heat loss experienced by air traveling through the ducting.
