[Class 135] A detachable mounting device for pneumatic tyres having valves of the type precluding the use of rim nuts, comprises a flat disclike member 5 of larger diameter than the hole in the wheel rim, having a thread at 6 to screw on to the valve mechanism during mounting and inflation to prevent the latter from slipping through the hole in the wheel rim, and with the periphery shaped to form a tool, for example with fingers or a tubular portion with notched end projecting from the side of the disc, for use in removing the valve core.

[Class 135] A "blow gun comprising a manually operated valve combined with a nozzle adapted to give the requisite jet of fluid has the valve arranged to open against the action of a series of compression springs of differing resistances adapted to come into operation successively so that the operator can distinguish by sense of touch when he is about to pass from one stage to another. The valve 8 which cooperates with a rubber seat 10 arranged at the bottom of a recess 2a is actuated by a push actuated plunger 16 slidably mounted in a detachable cage 14 serving to hold the seat 10 in position. Two loading springs are used the stronger one 17a surrounding the weaker one 17 and only coming into operation when the valve member is about to leave the recess.

[Classes 8 (ii) and 99 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a detachable pipe coupling of the type in, which a spigot 12 is secured with a socket 13 by means of pawls 31 pivotally attached to the socket engaging a groove 30 in the spigot, the groove is considerably wider than the thickness of the pawls to ensure relative axial movement between spigot and socket after coupling. A valve member 23 is held by pressure in the pipe 21 against the resilient seat 20 when coupling is effected. Further movement of the spigot into the socket raises the valve from its seat by engagement of the spigot end with the projection 20. The coupling may be used in an air line for blowing fluff from cotton bobbins, an adapter 36 having a' nozzle 37 to centre the bobbin on a seating washer 38 being secured to the spigot 12. The adapter may be of socket formation in which the bobbin is located on a seating washer. The adapter and spigot may be integrally connected. Specification 477,348 is referred to.

[Class 135] A tyre valve stem adapted to be secured to an inner tube by means of a mass of cured or semi-cured rubber moulded around the stem has the metal stem a made of substantially uniform external diameter, and has formed integrally therewith adjacent the tube engaging end, two spaced annular enlargements c, d defining an intervening annular recess e equal in diameter to the diameter of the shank. The lower enlargement at the end of the stem has the edge rounded and the thickness of the enlargements is approximately one quarter of the distance between them. In the form shown the rubber mass is moulded around the recess between the enlargements but it may enclose one or both of them. The enlargements may be circular, oval elliptical or polygonal in outline. Specifications 432,896 and 434,585 are referred to.
