Apparatus, for false-twisting a running yarn 2 by frictional engagement of the yarn with moving surfaces and which may be employed in twist-crimping thermoplastic continuous multifilament yarn, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises two hollow cylindrical contrarotating parallel members 8 and 9 at least the edges or rims 15, 15 1 and 16, 161 of which are of material, e.g. synthetic rubber, having a high abrasion resistance and high coefficient of friction in relation to the material of the yarn and successively and frictionally engage the yarn during its travel diagonally through the members. A disc 12, mounted with its axis of rotation at right angles to the axes of the members and constituted, e.g. by a facing 17, of similar abrasion resistant material, also frictionally engages the yarn at a part, at least, of its path between adjacent rims. The disc 12 is positively rotated at least at the same peripheral speed as the members and in a direction (relative to the yarn) opposite to the direction of rotation of the rims so that the twist effect thereof is additive and the yarn is maintained on its correct path under uniform tension. The friction material may be provided as a facing on the peripheral ends of removable flanges on each end of each twisting member. Members 8 and 9 may be independently driven. Two yarns may be simultaneously and oppositely false-twisted by passage in opposite direction on symmetrically disposed paths through members 8 and 9, a disc, as at 12, then being provided at both ends of the members.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muscle training machine capable of training the whole muscles of the body of a user, and also training his/her brain by doing exercises in arms and legs in accordance with a determined procedure.
      SOLUTION: The muscle training machine includes: a footrest member which has at least a footrest part to place a foot on; a string-like, belt-like, or chain-like expansible member which is attached to the footrest member and has a certain length, flexibility, and an expansible function; and a foot catching part which is attached to the expansible member and has a structure to enclose a toe. A dumbbell is mounted on the arbitrary position of the footrest member. In this case, the footrest member has a means for holding the dumbbell at the dumbbell mounting position.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool by which muscles of the legs and waist are three-dimensionally trained by tension.
      SOLUTION: The muscle training tool comprises at least a foot rest member and a flexible member for muscle training. A foot rest part for laying feet, a flexible member attaching part for directly or indirectly attaching the flexible member, and a direction shifting part for shifting a movement direction of the flexible member are formed on the foot rest member. The flexible member is formed of some length of flexible linear, string, ribbon, rope, or chain shaped member with a flexible function by itself, and has a foot rest part formed on one side thereof for laying feet. The direction shifting part formed on the foot rest member is formed of a member with some length of a face extended in an oblique direction, any of lateral or/and vertical directions, in a state of being used.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite power generation system capable of turning solar energy (heat energy) stored in all the substances (heat sources) on the earth into resources as electricity useful for human beings and heat energy.
      SOLUTION: In this composite power generation system, a cycle 1 is formed wherein compressed gas heat medium having temperature (To) of substance heat source and saturated steam pressure (Po) is cooled and liquefied partially after a process (a) in which it is thermally insulated and is expanded while performing external work, gas is separated from liquid, and the gas is brought into contact with the heat source through a heat exchanger, is heated by fixed volume up to the vicinity of To, is thermally insulated and is compressed up to the vicinity of Po, and is continuously circulated in a thermal insulation and expansion process (a). A cycle 2 is formed wherein the separated liquid is brought into contact with the heat source through another heat exchanger to obtain heat energy, is heated and vaporized, and is introduced and circulated in the thermal insulation and expansion process (a). By combining both cycles 1 and 2, exergy for the expansion of the heat medium exceeds exergy required for the compression and circulation in all the cycles to take excess exergy out of a compression and expansion connection process as electric power and utilize hot heat generated in the compression process and cold temperature of cooling air liquid effectively as resources.
