摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head that is capable of achieving an improved sweet spot, defined as a portion of a striking face that has at least 99.7% of the maximum ball speed.
SOLUTION: The golf club head 100 has the significantly circular shaped sweet spot which surrounds at least about 1.5% of a total striking face 102. The golf club head 100 includes: an improved face geometry whose elliptical factor is, generally, greater than about 0.5; a beveled transition portion 112 around the striking face 102 of the golf club head 100; a variable thickness area which decreases thickness; or a tilt bulge and roll radius. These are all useful to improve performance of the golf club head 100.

The pocket 222 is filled with a secondary material having a lower density to improve the performance of the golf club head 200. The multi-material face generally has a characteristic time slope of greater than about 5 and less than about 50. The characteristic time slope is determined based on the various data points collected according to the United States Golf Association's (USGA's) Characteristic Time (CT) test.
