    • An overhead door (10) and associated mating panels (14) includes a number of hinges to pivotally couple adjacent overhead door panels (14). Each door panel (14) includes a back metal skin (36) presenting a back face. Each hinge (20) includes a lower hinge leaf (50) a pair of hinge legs projecting generally parallel to each other. The lower hinge leaf (50) is mounted to the lower panel and a backer plate (56) is mounted to the interior face of the back skin (36) of the lower panel and screws or bolts project through the lower hinge leaf (50), the skin (36) and into the backer plate (56) . Each hinge leg (58) on the lower hinge leaf (50) includes a hinge pin hole near a terminal end thereof for alignment with the hinge pin holes in an upper hinge leaf (40). The lower hinge leaf (50) has a tongue (72) projecting from an upper edge (74) of the mounting base (52). The tongue is formed into a hook­shaped arcuate projection and aids in the alignment, support and positioning of a hinge pin inserted through the aligned hinge pin holes in the upper and lower hinge leaves. A depression or pocket (80) is provided in the back skin (36) of the lower panel for each hinge assembly. The pocket provides a recess for the terminal ends of the hinge legs (58) of the upper and lower hinge leaves. The shape or contour of the wells of the pocket (80) provides a location or alignment benefit to the positioning of the lower hinge leaf.

    • A hand guard attachment assembly for a firearm having a barrel (30) and a receiver (20) fastened to the barrel (30) by a barrel nut (32). The hand guard attachment assembly includes a forearm (10) having a monolithic mounting rail/hand guard (16) that is removably connected to the receiver (20). The monolithic rail/hand guard (16) interfaces with an integral multi-slot mounting portion (24) of the receiver (20). A cinch block (12) is mated to the slots of the receiver (20) and held in place by the monolithic rail/hand guard (16). A tension block (14) is mated at one end of the monolithic rail/hand guard (16) and is attached to the cinch block (12) by a fastener (18) to securely hold the monolithic rail/hand guard (16) in place.

    • A fire control assembly for a firearm includes a trigger engagement link comprising a forward end, a rearward end, and an intermediate portion. The fire control assembly further includes a sear including a bottom portion engageable with the intermediate portion of the trigger engagement link, and a hammer moveable between cocked and firing positions. The hammer includes a link displacement portion operable to displace the forward end of the trigger engagement link as the hammer is moved from its firing position to its cocked position. The displacement of the forward end of the trigger engagement link by the link displacement portion of the hammer disengages the intermediate portion of the trigger engagement link from the bottom portion of the sear so as to at least temporarily deactivate the fire control assembly.

    • A piston assembly is provided for a gas-operated firearm of the type having a chamber and a barrel. The piston assembly includes a gas expansion housing and a piston mounted within the gas expansion housing. An annular recess is formed in the outer wall of the piston to receive exhaust gases diverted from the barrel upon firing of the firearm. At least one longitudinally extending groove extends from the annular recess to the head of the piston and forms a pathway for diverting the exhaust gases to the head of the piston. During firing, pressurized gases are diverted into the annular recess and expand longitudinally from the annular recess to the piston head, whereupon the pressurized exhaust gas drives the gas piston rearwardly along the housing.
