摘要： The format handler (50) formats documents received from the document memory (10) in accordance with different set-ups of format controllers. Connected to the format handler, is a format controlling memory (40) containing the set-ups of format regulators. An application selector (20) is connected to the document memory and the format regulating memory. An application memory (30) is connected to the application selector and contains at least one group with tags. The group contains at least one tag. The application selector compares the tags in a document (12) in the document memory with a group of tags in the application memory and, dependent upon the comparison, selects a set-up of format regulators in the format regulator memory for the document. The set-up of format regulators selected corresponds to the group of tags all of which are firstly retrieved in the document, for transmission to the format handler, so that the document can be formatted with the selected set-up of format regulators.
