    • PURPOSE:To load or unload bar materials efficiently in a simple structure by letting out the uppermost bar material of piled bar materials in pallet in the longitudinal direction, transferring same to a feed unit positioned before, and loading same onto a conveyer by movement of the feed unit. CONSTITUTION:When a feed unit 11 of a feeding mechanism 7 is located at rising and retreating positions, a let-out running unit 4 is located at a retreating position. In such a condition, a letout piece 5 of the running unit 4 is lowered by a cylinder 6 to be engaged with the terminal end of the uppermost bar material A, and then the running unit 4 is forwarded to move the uppermost materials A group to the left, so that the bar materials A group is transferred onto an arm rod 12 of the feed unit 11. On completion of such transfer, the let-out piece 5 and the running unit 4 are returned to the initial position. The feed unit 11 moves squarely as indicated with white arrows to place the bar materials A group on the arm rod 12 on a chain conveyer 13, so that the bar materials A group is fed out in the direction of (b) by the conveyer 13. Meanwhile, a pallet B is lifted up for one step through a receiving table 1 to stand ready for the next unloading.
