    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the precipitous feeling which effects during large angle steering operation, by making the output of a steering angle PS device inversely proportional to the steering angle of a vehicle when the vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined value and the steering angle is below a certain angle, and by making the output of the steering angle PS device proportional to the steering angle when the steering angle exceeds the certain angle. CONSTITUTION:When the vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined value such as, for example, 30km/hr, data taken on registers, 4, 5 have less values as the steering angle increases up to a steering angle theta1. At this time a polarity reversing unit 8 delivers an input data thereof as it is since the output of a subtractor 6 is in the direction in which the steering angle increases, and is therefore positive. Accordingly, a subtracter 9 subtracts the result of computation by the subtracter 6 from a value read out from a ROM 3 one clock pulse before. Further, a multiplier 10 converts the value into a solenoid current, and therefore, the output of the PS device is inversely proportional to the steering angle until the steering angle increases to the value of theta1 when the vehicle speed exceeds 30km/hr.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to a constant steering force even on uneven road surfaces, by detecting an averaged load in every predetermined period so that the flow rate of oil in a power steering unit is controlled in accordance with the detected averaged load. CONSTITUTION:Since the level of a vehicle body lowers upon heavy load, a shaft 105 moves downward. Meanwhile no substantial change is appreciated in the position of an axle 101 so that a lever 104 rotates about its connecting point with respect to a link 103, and therefore, the shaft 105 rotates in the direction of the arrow. Accordingly, a cylinder 106 also rotates in the same direction as that of the shaft 105 so that a photo-interrupter 61 is aligned with a notch in the cylinder 106, and therefore, light emitted from the light emitting section of the photo-interrupter 61 becomes unshielded by the peripheral edge of the cylinder 106, and is received by the light receiving section of the photo-interrupter 61 which is therefore energized. Upon running of low load a photo-interrupter 62 is energized, and upon running of intermediate load it is deenergized.
