    • A method of fabricating the parts and assembling them into a complex structure, such as a silicon tower or boat for removably supporting a plurality of silicon wafers during thermal processing. A preferred embodiment of the tower includes four legs secured on their ends to two bases. A plurality of slots are cut in the legs allowing slidable insertion of the wafers and support for them. The legs preferably have a rounded wedge shape with a curved front surface of small radius cut with the slots and a back surface that is either flat or curved with a substantially larger radius. Preferably, the legs are machined from virgin polysilicon formed by chemical vapor deposition from silane. The bases may be either virgin poly or monocrystalline silicon and be either integral or composed of multiple parts. Virgin polysilicon is preferably annealed to above 1025° C. before machining. Silicon parts may be joined by applying a spin-on glass between the parts and annealing the assembly. After assembly, the surface of a tower is subjected to sub-surface working.

    • This invention generally relates to an animal or pet restraint apparatus for supporting an animal in a vehicle. The animal restraint apparatus adapted to engage with a vehicle seatbelt assembly having a waist strap portion and a shoulder strap portion. The apparatus is comprised of a flat tubular body having a tubular passage configured for releasably receiving the seatbelt assembly and a means for releasably engaging the back panel portion of the flat tubular body to the lower chest portion of a pet, avoiding the neck area. The present invention and its embodiments provide a means for safely and comfortably transporting a pet in a vehicle.

    • The invention relates generally to clamping devices and mechanisms which provide versatile and/or accurate coupling between the communicating members. Some embodiments relate to the field of woodworking and a doweling jig therefor having a hinged jaw mechanism to provide improved clamping between the doweling jig and a workpiece. Some embodiments relate to a connection or attachment device having a hinged jaw mechanism for detachably attaching a body portion to a structure or support element. Advantageously, the hinged jaw mechanism compensates for angular variations and irregularity in shape of the workpiece, structure or support. The hinged jaw mechanism desirably provides load bearing substantially over its entire length span.
