    • A method and computer-readable medium are provided for storing files in an official file repository. According to the method, a generic interface is exposed that includes a first method for requesting that a file be stored in a file vault. A record series is maintained that identifies one or more document types that may be stored in the file vault along with a location for each file type within the file vault where files of the type should be stored. A call may be made to the first method including the file to be stored in the file vault. In response to the call, a location for storing the file in the file vault may be identified based on the contents of the record series. Once the location has been identified, the file is stored in the identified location if the file type is in the record series. If the file type is not in the record series or the necessary property values are not received with the call, the file is placed in a holding zone portion of the file vault. The generic interface may further expose a second method for retrieving the file types identified in the record series and a third method for retrieving one or more properties associated with a file type identified in the record series.

    • A method and computer-readable medium are provided for accessing policy information associated with e-mail folders. According to the method, a user interface is provided that allows a user to navigate between one or more folders for storing data, such as e-mail folders. A selection of one of the e-mail folders may be received through the user interface. In response to the selection, a determination is made as to whether the selected folder is an organizational folder. If the selected folder is an organizational folder, an organizational policy statement associated with the selected folder is displayed within the user interface. The organizational policy statement may comprise data identifying a retention period for e-mail messages stored in the e-mail folder, data identifying the e-mail folder, data identifying an intended use for the e-mail folder, and a selectable link that may be utilized to access additional information regarding the organizational policy statement.

    • A robot is provided with a dynamically controlled center of mass which is decoupled from the end effector. The robot is comprised of a moving arm including a redundant linkage of connecting links and joints coupled to an end effector. The movement of the links and joints of the robot are coordinated by a dynamic servo controller. The robot has at least twice as many degrees of freedom as the number of operating dimensions. Also, for each dimension of operation, there is one group of masses that moves in the same direction as the end effector and another group of masses capable of independently moving in the same or opposite direction. This separation of the motion of the center of mass from the motion of the end effector can be used to decrease reaction forces and to generate significant forces at the end effector.

    • A multiplexer selects multiple input signals to produce an output in which the distortion associated with switching is minimized. Selection of the multiple input signals is performed within a multiplexing operational amplifier. The operational amplifier includes differential amplifiers that receive the respective input signals at their respective noninverting nodes. The differential amplifiers are connected to a feedback signal at their respective inverting nodes. The input signals are selected for output by turning on selection switches within the operational amplifier, causing the respective differential amplifiers to be selected. This minimizes non-linearities in the output due to capacitive coupling and eliminates unwanted resistive effects without requiring complicated circuitry. The selection switches may include complementary back-to-back MOSFETs, or alternatively, same-channel MOSFETs connected in series to cancel capacitive coupling and switch feedthrough within the multiplexing op-amp.

    • A development system having methods for maintaining data integrity of information stored as a data record in a database table with information displayed on a screen device is described. An exemplary method for maintaining data integrity, without continuous exclusive locking of a shared data record, includes the following steps. First, the system reads at least one field value from a database table, while the table is available to others (i.e., accessed with share access). This field value is displayed on screen to the user, whereupon the user may enter new information (i.e., new field value). In the event that the user has entered new information, the method performs the step of re-reading the field value from the database table. Accordingly, the method can determine whether the just-entered value differs from that stored in the database. In the event that the two differ, the method can update the database with the just-entered information displayed on screen or, alternatively, refresh the information displayed on screen with that which is now stored in the database table.

    • A data aggregation system is described herein for accessing and viewing information about an entity stored in multiple data stores. The data aggregation system identifies an entry in a primary data store that contains information about an entity. The system receives a request to associate an entry in a secondary data store with the identified entry in the primary data store. Then, the system identifies information in the secondary data store that identifies the entry in the secondary data store and associates the identified information with the entry in the primary data store. When a user requests to view the entry in the primary data store, the system retrieves the information about the entry in the primary data store and uses the stored entry identifier to also retrieve the information about the entry from the secondary data store. Thus, the information remains in the data store in which it originated, but the data aggregation system provides a unified view.
