    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove nitrogen oxides in a mixed gas by roughly horizontally running the mixed gas, while facilitating carrying work or exchanging work of an adsorbent, in a nitrogen oxides removal apparatus. SOLUTION: Multiple adsorbing units 20 are arranged in all directions in a nitrogen oxides adsorbing part 12 of the nitrogen oxides removal apparatus wherein a gas introducing part 10, a nitrogen oxides adsorbing part 12 and a gas delivering part 14 are nearly horizontally arranged. Each adsorbing unit 20 is provided with an adsorbing member 22 surrounding an inner flow passage 30, and an outer frame 24 surrounding the adsorbing member 22 and forming an outer passage 32 therebetween. The inner passage 30 is opened to form a gas inlet 38 and the outer passage 32 is blocked at one axial end of the adsorbing unit. At the other end, the inner passage 30 is blocked and the outer passage 32 is opened to form a gas outlet 42. The mixed gas passes through the adsorbent layer of the adsorbent member 22 from the gas inlet 38 and reaches the gas outlet 42. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly allow mixed gas to pass through an adsorbent while dispensing with clamping work by providing a seal member coming into contact with other peripheral surface under pressure by the own wt. of the adsorbent cartridge placed on a placing part to hermetically seal a gas communication port and an opening part. SOLUTION: The opening part 90 communicating with the adsorbents 91, 92 in an adsorbent cartridge 66 is provided to the bottom surface of the adsorbent cartridge 66 and the placing plate 102 of the adsorbent cartridge 66 is provided to the floor of an adsorbent housing chamber and the gas communication port 100 allowing the opening part 90 to communicate with the lower part of the adsorbent housing chamber is provided to the placing plate 102 at the position coinciding with the opening part 90. The gas passage of either one of a gas introducing passage and a gas lead-out passage is arranged to the lower part of the adsorbent housing chamber to be connected to the gas communication port 100 and a seal material 108 coming into contact with other peripheral surface under pressure by the own wt. of the adsorbent cartridge 66 to hermetically seal the gas communication port 100 and the opening part 90 is provided to the periphery of either one of the gas communication port 100 and the opening part 90.
