    • A reclosable pouch having a resealable mouth and an elongate closure mechanism. The closure mechanism includes a pair of interlocking members extending from a first surface of a first base member that are parallel to each other with a space therebetween. The pair of interlocking members has constant profiles between opposite ends. A plurality of partial indentations extends longitudinally along a second surface of the first base member at positions opposite to the space between the pair of interlocking members. A pair of interlocking members extends from a surface of a second base member and are parallel to each other with a space therebetween. The pair of interlocking members each has constant profiles between opposite ends. The pair of interlocking members extending from the first base member are configured to interlock with the pair of interlocking members extending from the second base member, in order to resealably close the mouth.

    • A slider actuated closure mechanism includes internal projections that extend from interior sides of the closure elements and retention members that extend from exterior sides of the closure elements. A slider is disposed over the first and second closure elements and includes first and second sidewalls each including a shoulder inwardly extending from a distal end thereof. When the slider is disposed over the first and second closure elements, the first sidewall and the first closure element are minimally horizontally separated by a distance d1, the second sidewall and the second closure element are minimally horizontally separated by a distance d2, and the internal projections are horizontally separated by a distance d3. The sum of the distances d1, d2, and d3 equals a total non-zero distance, dt, that is less than a length that each of the shoulders inwardly extends from the respective first and second sidewalls.

    • An airtight closure mechanism for a reclosable pouch includes first and second complementary closure elements, the first closure element comprising a first interlocking profile and the second closure element comprising a complementary second interlocking profile. First and second sealing sections are disposed on respective complementary sides of the first and second interlocking profiles. The first sealing section includes a first protuberance having a first distal surface, a second protuberance having a second distal surface, and a sealing flange attached to and extending between the first and second distal surfaces of the first and second protuberances, respectively. The second sealing section includes a sealing member disposed on a base of the second closure element. The sealing member is located a distance from the second interlocking profile that places a distal surface thereof between the first and second protuberances when the first and second interlocking profiles are occluded. Additionally, when the first and second interlocking profiles are occluded, the distal surface urges against the sealing flange to form an airtight seal therebetween.

    • A pouch with a valve includes first and second pouch sidewalls sealed to one another to define an opening. A resealable closure mechanism is attached to inner surfaces of the first and second sidewalls proximate the opening to define a pouch interior opposite the opening. A channel extends from the interior to the opening between a section of the first closure element and the first sidewall. A pleated thermoplastic member is sealingly disposed in the channel and has an aperture disposed through the member. A fluid path may provide direct fluid communication between the interior and an exterior of the pouch, wherein the fluid path passes through an edge of the pouch defined by at least one of the first or second pouch sidewalls. A valve is sealingly disposed in the fluid path, wherein the valve comprises a pleated thermoplastic member attached to at least one of the first or second pouch sidewalls and having an aperture disposed through the pleated thermoplastic member to provide fluid communication between the interior and the exterior of the pouch.
