摘要： This invention provides proteins which selectively inhibit the proliferation of androgen-independent prostate cancer cells. This invention also provides a nucleic acid molecule encoding the instant proteins, including a nucleic acid molecule suitable for use in gene therapy for treating a subject afflicted with androgen-independent prostate cancer. This invention further provides a composition of matter which selectively kills androgen-independent prostate cancer cells, and comprises the instant proteins and a toxic moiety operably affixed thereto. Finally, the instant invention provides related pharmaceutical compositions and methods for treating androgen-independent prostate cancer.

摘要： Production of monoglycerides is enhanced by means of enzymatic transesterification of triglycerides with aliphatic alcohols in a medium of supercritical CO.sub.2. Aliphatic primary and secondary alcohols of 1 to 8 carbon atoms may be used without support in supercritical CO.sub.2 at temperatures compatible for enzymatic transesterifion of tryglycerides. Utilization of these lower reaction temperatures has the benefit of diminishing the production of undesired side products and thus increasing the reaction efficiency with regard to production of the desired monoglycerides.

摘要： A garment to be worn conveniently and comfortably over the upper body of a seagoing person to gain protection from rain, wind, and/or cold, which includes an interior deflated fluid tight enclosure, i.e. a bladder, to be very quickly inflated inside the garment in a time of emergency. The deflated fluid tight enclosure covers at least the interior upper back portion of this garment and also covers at least the interior of the right and left chest portions of this garment. An inflating subassembly is operatively secured between the deflated fluid tight enclosure and to either the right or left chest portion of this garment. This inflating subassembly has an alternatively usable mouth and lung inflatable valved air intake-discharge communicating with the deflated fluid tight enclosure, and an alternatively usable filled compressed fluid valved cylinder discharge also communicating with the deflated fluid tight enclosure and having a coilable pullable lanyard. Then a pocket like subassembly is removably secured, by using loop and hook fasteners on the exterior of the garment at either the right or left chest portion and is non removably secured to the coilable pullable lanyard. This pocket like assembly fully covers and protects the inflating subassembly, until an emergency, when the seagoing person intentionally, readily, and quickly, pulls the pocket like assembly away from the garment, causing the pulling of the lanyard to activate the valve on the compressed fluid valved cylinder. The fluid tight enclosure is then quickly inflated, creating the buoyancy needed by this seagoing person.

The reaction is conducted in the presence of a catalyst and under conditions effective for ketonization of decanoate with the carboxylic acid to produce free ketones. Reaction of a glyceride comprising at least one ester of decanoic acid with a carboxylic acid selected from acetic acid and/or propionic acid produces 2-undecanone and/or 3-dodecanone, respectively. Catalysts of the formula FemCenAlpOx, wherein m is between about 0.2 to about 0.6, n is about 0.2, p is between about 0.6 to about 0.2, and x is greater than 0, produce significantly higher yields of the ketones than other known metal oxides.

摘要： A froth flotation machine (40) having a rotary air-supply shaft (42) vertically disposed in a vessel (41) includes an impeller (50) comprising a series of interconnected blades (52,53).
