    • A machine, such as a mobile device having telephony features, such as a voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony application, is configured with a secure environment in which a location provider within (more reliable) or external to (less reliable) the machine may determine location data for the machine and securely provide it to a telephony application program for incorporation into a call setup for calling a callee. The secure environment may be created through use of one or more of Intel's LaGrande Technology™ (LT), Vanderpool Technology (VT), or a Trusted Platform Module (TPM). The LT and VT allow defining secure independent components within the machine, such as by instantiating them as Virtual Machines, and the TPM allows components to cryptographically sign data, such as to facilitate ensuring the location data is not tampered with. A recipient of a telephone call setup including cryptographically secured location data may validate the location data and accept the call. Other embodiments may be described.

    • In one embodiment a method is disclosed for accepting and enforcing user selectable privacy settings for context awareness including location awareness data on a computing platform. The method may identify a requestor, assign a privacy setting to the requester then detect a request for location information from the requestor. The method may transmit location information to the requester based on the user selected privacy setting. The user selected privacy setting may have a granularity assigned to each requestor based on a privacy preference and the method may entirely block the location information from being disclosed or the method may modify the granularity/accuracy of the location information based on the privacy setting to report context of an appropriate level of granularity according to the privacy setting configured by the user. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

    • An agricultural apparatus is disclosed herein for the harvesting of a low-density crop such as cotton. The agricultural apparatus includes a frame, a crop acquiring device associated with the frame; a crop collecting bin, or basket, which is supported by the frame, adjustable in position with respect to the frame, and provided with an opening in a wall of the basket for conveying of crop into the basket; a conveying device for conveying of crop from the acquiring device to the basket and having a first end associated with the acquiring device and a second end associated with the basket opening; and a hood pivotally attached to the basket for selectively covering the basket opening and for engaging the second end of the conveying device. The hood may include one or more latching apparatus for securing the hood in an opened position and in a closed position. The latching apparatus may be of the barrel, bolt, and keeper type, and may be disposed at a first end, a second end, or first and second ends of the hood. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a cotton picker for transport, including the step of pivoting a hood from an opened position to a closed position.

    • A system for mounting and supporting harvesting units on a forward end of a cotton harvester frame to allow them to be slidably moved relative to each other and laterally along an elongated tool bar structure. The tool bar structure is pivotally connected to the cotton harvester frame by a lift assembly. The harvesting units hang in a cantilevered fashion from and are independently connected at their rearward edges to the tool bar structure by a slide support structure which facilitates visibility of the harvesting units from a cab region of the harvester. The slide support structure maintains a non-rotatable and non-point contact relationship with laterally elongated generally flat support surfaces defined between opposite ends of the tool bar structure whereby substantial surface area contact is provided between each side support structure and the support surfaces on the tool bar structure. To facilitate numerous combinations of row spacings and harvesting capacities, the tool bar structure is preferably comprised of modular units which are connected together in axially aligned relation and includes a pivotal extension provided at each or both ends of the tool bar structure. When axially aligned with the tool bar structure, the pivotal extension provides coextensive elongation of the support surfaces on the tool bar structure. An operator-controlled driver mechanism is preferably provided to facilitate precise positioning of the harvesting units relative to each other and along the support surfaces of the tool bar structure.
