    • A balanced fluid control valve includes a housing (20) formed with an inlet port (23) and an outlet port (24); a valve seat (25) located within the housing (20) between the ports (23, 24); and a hollow stem (26) having one end located within the housing (20) facing and adjacent to the valve seat (25), and an opposite end facing and aligned with one of the ports. The hollow stem (26) and valve seat (25) are supported within the housing such that one is movable relative to the other: (a) to cause the hollow stem (26) to be spaced from the valve seat (25), and thereby open the valve to the flow of fluid through the hollow stem (26) from the inlet to the outlet; or (b) to cause the hollow stem (26) to be moved into firm contact with the valve seat (25) and close the valve.
