The trampoline is provided with a net enclosure in which a generally circumextending net is mounted by respective sheaths on a plurality of poles coupled to the support structure and extending generally upright therefrom. In use, for the greater part of its height, the position of the net corresponds generally to the periphery of the support structure, while lower edge regions of the net are coupled to the periphery of the sheet or mat inboard of the support structure, thereby at least largely preventing a user from falling or treading upon the spring couplings or on an annular pad overlying said couplings, if present.

摘要： The displacement of a spring 6 or load applied to spring 6 is sensed by an electric circuit 7 measuring a change in inductance L. The electric circuit 7 comprises a Colpitts oscillator circuit. Pulses produced at a resonant frequency are counted as an indication of the spring's 6 inductance (fig 8). Spring 6 can comprise a helical, coaxial double (21, 22, fig. 5), flat or coach spring (28, 29, fig. 6). Embodiments of the invention include sensing the weight of someone on a trampoline (fig.8) or the height a person jumps (fig. 7), the load on a spring balance (50, fig, 13) or strain gauge, the direction a platform (54, fig. 15) or joystick (62, fig 16) moves, the load a crane lifts (fig. 14) or the actions of a punch ball (34, fig. 9) or punch bag (37, fig. 9).

摘要： A trampoline comprises a trampoline sheet supported around its periphery from a support structure by spring couplings under tension. The support structure comprises a tubular frame supported by a plurality, of legs. The tubular frame is formed from a plurality of tubular members. Respective couplers 4 both couple end portions of the tubular members together to form the tubular frame and couple upright ends of the legs to the frame. Each coupler 4 comprises a single piece of metal or plastics formed without welding generally into a T-shape having a crosspiece and an upright piece. Ends of the cross-piece are received in male fashion within ends of the tubular member, and the upright piece is received in male fashion within a female end of a leg. In an alternative arrangement (see figure 8), each coupler (104) comprises a pair of separate and complementary coupler members each consisting of a single piece of metal or plastics formed without welding. The coupler members, when placed together, meet generally in a medial central plane of the coupler to form a generally T-shape having a cross-piece and an upright piece. Ends of the cross-piece are received in male fashion within ends of the tubular member, and ends of the upright piece are received in male fashion within a female end of a leg.
