These parallel extending slats are also designed to support a series of pots on either the multi-part rack or the complementary rack wherein these parallel extending slats allow water to drip down through the slats and into the catch basin.

There is also a compression plate connected to the plunging arm wherein this compression plate is designed to compress garbage inside the can. Disposed on top of the can is a collar and a cover coupled to the collar. The cover is coupled to the collar via a rotatable hinge. In a first embodiment of the invention, the can is disposed in a slidable tray so that the can, is able to be stored in a closed compartment. In addition, disposed adjacent to the can in the tray is a bin for storing other materials such as recyclable bottles. Coupled to either the can or the tray is a support means for supporting the can above a surface such as a kitchen floor. In a second embodiment of the invention the trash compactor is designed to be free standing wherein this trash compactor does not sit in a tray and also does not have a support means for supporting the can.

摘要： A manual trash compactor for a garbage can with an open top end and a closed bottom end. The compactor comprises a hood having an open top end and a bottom end that is attached to a top end of the garbage can. In addition, attached to the hood is a top or substantially closed surface wherein the top surface has at least one hole. There is also an adjustable arm that has a bottom end that is rotatably mounted on the top surface. The adjustable arm also has an opposite top end. Rotatably attached to the top end of the adjustable arm is a lever arm. A first end of the lever arm attaches to the adjustable arm while there is a second end that is spaced opposite the first end. Along the lever arm is a piston having a top end that is rotatably attached to the lever arm. The piston also has a bottom end that extends through the at least one hole in the top surface, with the bottom end extending into the garbage can. A compression plate is attached substantially perpendicular to the piston at the bottom end of the piston. Thus, to manually compress garbage in a garbage can, a user can close the top, and press down on the second end of the lever arm. This act rotates the adjustable arm and the lever arm so that the piston extends down, substantially perpendicular to the bottom end of the garbage can driving the compression plate onto the garbage and compacting the garbage between the compression plate and the bottom end of the garbage can.

摘要： A machine for making mop heads includes a pair of parallel forward moving conveyor chains and a yarn winder upstream of the conveyor chains. A continuous supply of yarn is wound by the winder around the outside of the conveyor chains as the chains are moving forward. Downstream of the winder, two rolls of fabric apply a narrow strip of fabric to the yarn at opposite ends inside the conveyor chains. A pair of sewing machines stitch the fabric to the yarn to form opposite end loops around the conveyor chains. Periodically, the winder is stopped or slowed while the conveyor chains continue to move forward forming a long angled loop in the yarn dividing groups of yarn loops. A centrally located taping device sequentially encircles each group of yarn loops at a point equidistant between the conveyor chains. Downstream of the conveyor chains, a pair of rotating arms collect individual taped and stitched groups of yarn loops and a cutter cuts the fabric strips and yarn between each bunched group. One of the rotating arms is provided with a supply of ring wire which is automatically threaded into the end loops. The resulting groups of yarn have a generally "figure 8" configuration with end loops strung together on a curved wire. The ends of the curved wire are manually attached to form a ring. A mop head made with the machine has a single yarn which is looped, stitched and taped and carded on a ring for use with a self-wringing mop.
