    • An anaerobic fermentation part generates gas containing methane and carbon dioxide by anaerobically fermenting biomass. The gas is passed to a methane.carbon dioxide separation part to be separated into methane and carbon dioxide, and part of the separated methane is fed to a methane reforming part to be decomposed into carbon and hydrogen under the presence of a catalyst. The carbon dioxide separated in the methane.carbon dioxide separation part and the hydrogen formed in the methane reforming part are fed to a carbon dioxide fixing part, which in turn reacts the carbon dioxide with the hydrogen under the presence of a catalyst for continuously forming carbon and hydrogen and fixing the carbon dioxide.

    • This invention is related to a polymerization method wherein an atom transfer radical polymerization of a vinyl monomer is carried out under at least one condition selected from the group consisting of the following (1), (2), (3) and (4): (1) in a substantially anhydrous system; (2) in the presence of a nitrile compound; (3) addition, to the system, of a ligand to the polymerization catalyst to thereby initiate the polymerization; (4) varying a polymerization catalyst activity during polymerization to thereby control the rate of polymerization. This invention provides a method which allows the terminal halogen atom to remain at a high rate in atom transfer radical polymerization, solve such problems as the difficulty in polymerization rate control as caused by catalyst precipitation and wide variation in catalyst amount, provide a simple and safe method of polymerization initiation as well as a method of controlling the rate of polymerization, and indicate a method of improving the polymerization procedure.

    • An end effector device attached to a tip end portion of a robot arm includes a plurality of support units provided on a blade. Each of the support units includes: a plurality of nail pieces configured to support peripheral portions of a plurality of semiconductor wafers such that the semiconductor wafers are parallel to one another and spaced apart from one another; and a pitch changing mechanism configured to change upper-lower intervals of the nail pieces.
