    • The replaceable, outside-in flow filter element with integral annular trap provides a simple, efficient, tubular filter element that combines the advantages of inside out-flow and outside-in flow filters. The element includes end caps with pleated filter media extending there between. A solid tube is secured between the end caps in a position spaced radially outward from the media. The annular space between the media and the tube forms an integral, lateral, outer trap for containing filtered out particulate matter. The trap allows the particulate to be removed with the used filter element during conventional replacement. The inlet end cap includes openings spaced from an end of the filter media whereby a portion of the openings overlap the media in plan view such that inflow through this overlapping portion of the openings will flow radial outward in the space between the openings and the filter media to the annular space.

    • A portable, controllable fluid filtration flushing system with automated feedback, remote access, and documented operation is designed for hydraulic fluid or the like and has a base mounted on wheels for transporting the system. A filtration system mounted on the base is connectable to the hydraulic fluid system of the machine to be flushed. Feedback sensors mounted on the base, such as a particulate sensor or particle counter, are coupled to the filtration system. A programmable logic controller (PLC) is mounted on the base to control and document the operation of the flushing system. An operator input mechanism, such as a touch screen or keypad, may be on the base. The PLC is remotely accessible by an operator such as through the Internet, hardwire connection, RF connection, or the like.

    • A replaceable inside out flow filter element comprises an annular filter media structure; an upper end cap attached one end of the media structure; a lower end cap attached to an opposed end of the media structure, with an inner annular bypass mounting sidewall formed on the lower end cap; a bypass valve assembly secured to the inner annular bypass mounting sidewall and configured to communicate with the radial inner side of the annular filter media structure; and an annular bypass shield tube coupled to the bypass mounting sidewall and extending above the bypass valve assembly toward the upper end cap, wherein the inner annular bypass mounting sidewall and the annular bypass shield tube combine with the radial inner side of the media structure to define an annular particulate receiving area that extends about at least ½ of the length of the media structure from the lower end cap.
