    • A servovalve (10) includes a primary valve (18) that is movable between a closed position and a plurality of open positions in which the valve plug (60) presents a restriction of variable size for varying flow. A diaphragm (34) supports the valve plug (60). A control chamber (32) is provided on the first side of the diaphragm (34) and is connected to the inlet (14) by a pilot inlet passage (48) and to the outlet (16) by a pilot outlet passage (40). A pilot valve (20) controls the flow of fluid through the pilot outlet passage (40), and includes a control plug (82) between a closed and a plurality of open positions in which the control plug (82) presents a restriction of variable size within the pilot outlet passage (40) for varying the flow between the control chamber (32) and the outlet (16). A solenoid (94) moves the control plug (82). The plug (82) is positioned by the force of an electromagnetic coil (94) working against spring (86).
