摘要： PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately measure the concn. of sulfur oxide or the like in a gas, by a method wherein a sulfuric acid storage tank is provided to a gas passage guiding a gas to be measured to a measuring instrument and the gas to be measured is contacted with stored sulfuric acid while water droplets condensed on the way of the transfer of said gas to be measured is contacted with sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION:A sulfuric acid storage tank 8 having sulfuric acid 7 stored therein is provided in cooling water W covered with a box like casing 6 and a gas to be measured introduced through a gas sucking pipe 9 connected to a gas passage 2a of the gas to be measured is contacted with sulfuric acid 7 to absorb and remove moisture contained in the gas. The gas to be measured is thereafter cooled by cooling water W while passed through an inverted funnel shaped guide passage 10 to condense residual moisture in the gas to be measured and condensed water is mixed in sulfuric acid in the storage tank while accompanied by downwardly flowed sulfuric acid 7b. In this case, sulfur dioxide dissolved in moisture is contacted with sulfuric acid 7 and liberated again as a gas to be sent to a measuring instrument from the gas passage 2b of the gas to be measured.
