    • The present invention is concerned with a hair clipping device. The device has a first member in the form of an arm, and defines an inwardly facing surface. The device has a second member also in the form of an arm, movably connected to the first member and defines an inwardly facing surface. The device further has a bridge, the bridge has a frame portion made of a first material and an interior portion made of a second material. The interior portion is softer than the frame portion and provided with an increased frictional surface when compared to said frame portion.

    • There is provided a hair fastener. The hair fastener has an elongate body made of an elastic material stretchable under tension for maximizing holding capability of hair and a locking means at least part of which made of a stiff material. The locking means includes a first member and a second member arranged at opposite ends of the body. The first member and the second member are releasably engageable with each other by way of a mechanical interference fit in that engagement of the first and second members is achieved independent of degree of tension of the elastic body and engagement or disengagement of the first and second members is achieved by way of one hand operation of a user. The fastener is adapted to assume a first configuration in which the first member and second members are engaged before tying the hair and a second configuration in which the first and second members are disengaged whereby removal of the fastener from the hair in the second configuration minimizes movement of the fastener along the length of the hair and thus eliminating or at least reducing frictional contact with the hair. With this construction, majority part of the hair fastener can be made of a high friction material to provide improved gripping or holding security of hair and yet hair is not damage during removal of the fastener from user's hair.

    • One aspect of the present invention is concerned with a method of manufacture of a hair brush. The method has the steps of providing a base member having connection means at circumferential region thereof, providing a sheet material having a plurality of spikes extending from outwardly facing surface of the sheet material, the sheet material and the spikes are integrally formed by injection molding of a plastic(s) material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastics polyester elastomer (TPE-E), polyether block amide copolymer (TPE-A), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and polyurethane (PU), with a hardness from substantially Shore D50 to D65, and with a flexural modulus from 30,000 PSI to 40,000 PSI, assembling the sheet material by fitting perimeter thereof to the circumferential region of the base member, the base member and the connection means are configured to allow the sheet material to secure to the base member. The outwardly facing surface assumes a convex curvature. In an assembled configuration, a cavity is defined between the sheet material and the base member. In use, when the spikes are under pressure the spikes are movable in response to the pressure, causing corresponding movement to the sheet material, the movement creating a cushioning effect.
