摘要： A hollow bamboo strip includes mao bamboo sheets formed by splitting bamboo; the two sides of a mao bamboo sheet are cut with matching surfaces, thereby making a finished bamboo sheet with a trapezoidal cross section, the matching surfaces of a plurality of finished bamboo sheets are successively spliced or finger jointed into a hollow bamboo strip with a hollow structure. A hollow bamboo board is spliced by fitting several hollow bamboo strips at side surfaces. A method for manufacturing a hollow bamboo board includes: splitting the bamboo into several mao bamboo sheets in its peripheral direction; cutting a mao bamboo sheet into a finished bamboo sheet with a trapezoidal cross section; carbonizing the finished bamboo sheet; forming the finished bamboo sheets subjected to carbonization into a hollow bamboo strip; fitting corresponding side surfaces of several hollow bamboo strips to be spliced into a hollow bamboo board.

摘要： A sieving apparatus includes first and second sieving portions. The first sieving portion includes a sieve with a plurality of elongated holes or slits for separation of an object to be sieved based on difference in cross-sectional diameter. The second sieving portion with a sieve constituted by a porous plate includes round holes for separation of the object that has passed through the elongated holes or slits based on difference in aspect ratio. The second sieving portion is employed after sieving by the first sieving portion. A diameter of the round holes in the porous plate constituting the sieve included in the second sieving portion is longer than an opening width in a shorter direction of the elongated hole or the slit of the sieve included in the first sieving portion.

Solution A sieving apparatus 1 includes a first sieving portion including a sieve provided with a plurality of elongated holes or slits and a second sieving portion used after sieving in the first sieving portion and provided with a sieve constituted by a porous plate. A hole diameter of the porous plate constituting the sieve included in the second sieving portion is longer than an opening width of the elongated hole or the slit of the sieve included in the first sieving portion. The sieve included in the first sieving portion is constituted by a wedge wire screen. The sieve included in the second sieving portion is constituted by a punching metal mesh having approximately circular holes.

摘要： A method of making a bamboo lamp or other item from bamboo including the drilling of a center portion of each of a bamboo section and injecting the center portion of at least a portion of the bamboo sections with an injectable spray foam. To make a bamboo lamp, the bamboo sections are dried and divided into base sections filled with foam and the single unfilled shaft section attached together to form a lamp shaft. The right and left ends of each foam-filled base sections are removed and the outer ends remaining are cut at a 30-degree angle, attached to external edges of a lower base, and glued together. An upper base can be attached to the lower base. Each base is drilled to accommodate the necessary light fixture parts for the lamp.

摘要： A method for treating the natural cane reed used in woodwind musical instruments. The method includes contacting at least the proximal portion of said reed with a polymer treatment liquid, in which the liquid delivers at least 1% by weight of polymer into the reed, based upon the percentage increase in dry weight of that portion of said reed contacted by the liquid. The reed remains substantially water-permeable, yet is rendered resistant to degradation by saliva. An impregnated reed is also described, in which at least the proximal portion of the reed has been impregnated by a liquid that includes a non-toxic polymeric material that is water-insoluble upon drying or curing within the reed. The impregnated portion of the reed is at least 25% as permeable to water as an identical portion of an equivalent untreated reed, yet is resistant to degradation by saliva.
