    • A business forms assembly and method of forming is provided wherein a continuous web defines a plurality of successive form sets and wherein the web is divided longitudinally by a slit indicator line to define adjacent form parts for each set. Carbonless transfer technology is employed, such that a back side or undersurface of one form part (the upper part) is coated with carbonless microcapsules, while a front side or upper surface of the adjacent form part (the lower part) is coated with a co-reactant resin coating. The arrangement permits variable information to be printed on the adjacent form parts as the web passes through a non-impact printer. Thereafter, the web is longitudinally slit, separating the adjacent form parts which are thereafter interstacked so that the coating on the undersurface of the upper form part lies in full surface engagement with the coating on the upper surface of the lower form part. The respective form parts may then be adhesively secured. Thereafter, information imaged onto the upper form part is simultaneously imaged onto the lower form part.

    • A multilayered document assembly for travel agencies yields a customer's invoice, itinerary and document jacket as well as the agency's file copy by carbonless or carbon means of copying through the assembly. A document pocket is transversely disposed across an end of a lower sheet of the assembly to allow graphic area for printing all output information from common major airline computer program reservation and ticketing systems with no unused areas to result in waste paper to be disposed of by the agency employee. Standard size, relatively narrow paper can be utilized for the assembly sheets at considerable savings of paper expense over wider paper. Printers designed for maximum paper width of ten inches can utilize the assembly.

    • A continuous business form assembly comprises a continuous web incorporating a plurality of business forms, the business forms each having a window flap portion and a non-window, remainder portion, the form having an exterior surface and an opposite, interior surface. The window flap portion has a first face defined on the web exterior surface and a second face defined on the web interior surface, the window first face and second face thereby being defined on the opposite exterior and interior surfaces of the form. The window flap portion is partially cut from the form to thereby form a window at least partially defined by one edge providing a fold line about which the window flap portion is foldable to a printing position in which the window flap first face is exposed with the interior surface of the form, for simultaneous, printing of the window flap first face and the interior surface of the form. The window flap portion is foldable along the fold line, after printing, to a closed portion in which the window flap first face is returned to exposure with the exterior surface of the form and acts as a label for the business form. Each window is substantially covered by a transparent patch mounted to the interior surface of the form, the patch defined by four edges, a first of which is located substantially along the fold line of the window flap portion.

    • A method for forming a custom printed sheet bearing a layer of adhesive using a printer that drives a sheet along a sharply arcuate path past printing head means on the printer. An elongate sheet composite (10) is provided that includes an elongate primary sheet portion (11) of a width adapted to be received and fed through the printer, and a secondary sheet portion (17) positioned adjacent the primary sheet portion with edges of the primary and secondary sheet portions generally aligned; and a layer (24) of pressure sensitive adhesive extending between the adjacent surfaces of the sheet portions. The sheet composite has transverse paths of weakness (28) at spaced locations along its length to define a concatenation of sheet composite segments. The sheet composite is folded in opposite directions along successive transverse paths of weakness to form a stack of sheet composite segments. The sheet composite is fed from the stack longitudinally through the printer while the printer is actuated to form a desired message along a portion of the sheet composite, after which the printed portion of the sheet composite can be torn off, and its first and second portions separated to expose the layer of adhesive so that the message bearing portion of the sheet composite can be adhered to a substrate.
