    • A valve assembly (20) can automatically dispense aerosol content from an aerosol container (22) at predetermined intervals without the use of electric power. A diaphragm (58) at least partially defines an accumulation chamber (80) that receives aerosol content from the can (22) during an accumulation phase. Once the internal pressure of the accumulation chamber (80) reaches a predetermined threshold, the diaphragm (58) moves axially, carrying with it a leg (62) so as to unseal an outlet, and thereby initiate a spray burst. A pawl (66) extends from the diaphragm (58), and engages a retention surface (68) to resist movement of the diaphragm (58) and prolong the accumulation phase. The diaphragm (58) assumes its original position when the pressure within the accumulation chamber (80) falls below a threshold pressure.

    • A non-electrically powered automatic dosing and spraying apparatus is described which comprises a valve assembly and a container of pressurised fluid with an outlet valve, wherein the valve assembly is connected to the container to open the outlet valve to permit the fluid to flow into the valve assembly and wherein the valve assembly comprises a housing containing at least two chambers wherein one of those chambers is a main chamber open at one end to the contents of the container and closed at one end by a movable plunger, and another of those chambers is a dose chamber closed at one end by the movable plunger and closed at the other end by a prodder seal formed between a movable prodder and a fluid outlet opening; wherein the movable plunger is biased against movement toward the dose chamber by a main spring means and a prodder spring means, the main spring means being mounted in or adjacent to the dose chamber and the prodder spring means being connected to both the movable plunger and movable prodder, a leak path is provided for the fluid between the main chamber and the dose chamber.
