摘要： A receptacle venting and freshening device for facilitating removal of liners from trash cans includes a tube, which has a first surface that is complementary to a face of a receptacle. A top of the tube is positioned proximate to an upper end of the receptacle and a bottom of the tube rests on a lower end of the receptacle. A plurality of fasteners is coupled to the first surface and is configured to couple the tube to the receptacle. A hanger, coupled to an interior surface of the tube proximate to the top, is configured to retain an air freshener unit. A plurality of cutouts, positioned in the tube proximate to the bottom, is configured to allow air to flow over the air freshener unit to exit from the tube through the cutouts as a liner positioned in the receptacle is withdrawn from the receptacle to freshen the receptacle.

The means for reducing the vacuum can be an angle having holes therein, which can be molded into the trash can, glued into the trash can, or attached to the trash can with conventional mechanical fasteners.

The bin can be double walled with the inner compartment 20 surrounded by a shell 12 forming the body this could be formed by a single seamless integral moulding. The two parts can be coaxial with the inner compartment being frustoconical and converging towards the outer shell. The inner compartment can be 15-45l. The entire bin can be 672mm high, 340mm across at the rim and 305mm across at the base 28. Ideally the interior surface is highly polished. A removable hinged lid can be fitted with a retainer for a carbon filter cassette. The bin can have two or more compartments. Holes 64 in the base can be closed by plugs 62. The base can receive a plate. The lid arrangement can include a collar to secure a refuse bag.
