    • An equipment (200) for controlling an air system of a diesel engine, comprises an operation condition acquiring device (202), an objective flow determining device (204) and a signal generating device (206). The operation condition acquiring device (202) is used to acquire actual operation condition parameters of the diesel engine. The objective flow determining device (204) is used to determine objective flow parameters on the basis of the actual operation condition parameters from the operation condition acquiring device (202), through a non-linear physical model which characterizes the air system. The signal generating device (206) is used to generate signals for controlling an EGR system and a turbocharge system on the basis of the objective flow parameters from the objective flow determining device (204). A method for controlling an air system of a diesel engine and a computer program medium recording the computer program code for performing the method are also disclosed.
