    • The invention relates to a process for feeding an inhibitor into a gas pipeline for preventing hydrate formation, comprising the steps of: a) determining the feed rate of the inhibitor to be fed into the gas pipeline by taking gas in situ from a gas well through a gas conduit having an inlet, feeding the inhibitor into the gas conduit at the examined feed rate, transporting the gas comprising the inhibitor to a coolable portion of the gas conduit and cooling it there to a given temperature, measuring pressure difference between at least two locations of the coolable portion, and determining from a measured pressure difference hydrate formation at the given temperature and thereby sufficiency of the examined feed rate; b) providing an inhibitor feeder comprising a telemetric data transmission system for the remote control and monitoring of the inhibitor feeder, and connecting the inhibitor feeder to a feeding point of the gas pipeline; c) feeding the inhibitor at the feed rate determined in step a) into the gas pipeline through the feeding point by the inhibitor feeder equipped with the telemetric data transmission system.
