摘要： The present invention relates to a method for obtaining improved photostability of a sunscreen composition that contains at least two sunscreen active ingredients, which are photo-unstable when formulated together, by microencapsulating at least one of said active ingredients in an encapsulating material suitable for holding the encapsulated active ingredient material, thus reducing or preventing its leaching out of the capsules; and adding other acceptable components and additives needed for the preparation of said composition. The sunscreen active ingredients can be selected from UVA and UVB absorbers, preferably a combination thereof. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention said active ingredients are encapsulated in separate sol-gel microcapsules.

摘要： An antibacterial zeolite causing little discoloration which is obtained by treating the surface of zeolite having an antibacterial metal carried thereon with 0.5 to 20 % by weight (based on the zeolite) of a composition comprising: (A) 100 parts by weight of a hydrolyzable silane and/or its oligomer containing from 10 to 100 % by weight of a hydrolyzable silane having an aryl group and/or its oligomer; (B) 1 to 1.000 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane having basic nitrogen atoms; and (C) 0.2 to 250 parts by weight of a water-soluble acid capable of forming a salt with component (B). The antimicrobial zeolite scarcely causes any discoloration when an organic polymer which contains the zeolite is exposed to heat, sunlight, etc.

摘要： The present invention provides pest control formulations which comprise lignin as well as methods of protecting pest control agents from environmental degradation through the use of lignin. A solubilized lignin solution is prepared by mixing water, lignin, and a pH adjuster to form a solubilized lignin solution having a pH of between about 7 and about 12, preferably between about 8 and about 11, and most preferably between about 9 and about 10. The solubilized lignin solution is then used to prepare the pest control formulation by mixing with pest control agent and a multivalent salt and drying to form a dispersible formulation. The dispersible formulation is mixed with water to form the pest control formulation having resistance to solar degradation. Alternatively, the solubilized lignin solution may be used as an adjuvant by drying and later adding the dried adjuvant to pest control agent and a multivalent salt to form the pest control formulation, or by mixing directly with pest control agent and multivalent salt to form the pest control formulation. When prepared with the lignin adjuvant, the pest control formulation has improved resistance to washoff as well as resistance to solar degradation.
