The fixed part (14) has a front face (16) and a rear face (18) with a first leg (20) and a second leg (22) and, therebetween, an interior leg (24) and an exterior leg (26) and a central leg (28). A movable part (34) has a front face (36) and a rear face (38) with an upper leg (40) and a lower leg (42). Therebetween is an interior leg (44) and an exterior leg (46) and a central leg (48). A locking plate (52) extends upwardly from the central leg (28) of the fixed part with a section extending interiorly thereof. The locking plate (52) forms a space between the locking plate and the remainder of the fixed part. The interior leg (44) of the movable part has a height greater than the height of the locking plate (52) and a diameter slightly greater than the space between the locking plate (52) and the remainder of the fixed part (14).

The male buckle portion is connected to a cable (35). Pulling the cable with sufficient force causes the male portion to release from the female portion. 摘要： PURPOSE: A buckle assembly is provided, which is used in a 3- or 5-point harness system and isn't released unintentionally, which is durable and easy to operate, and which is simple and inexpensive to manufacture. CONSTITUTION: The buckle assembly comprises: a female portion(11) having an inner cavity(15), an open top(13) and at least one locking slot(12); at least one male portion(30) adapted to be received within the cavity of the female portion through the open top, the male portion having a base(35), a central leg(33), a catch(34) on the central leg and a locking tab(32) which is seated in the locking slot when the male portion is inserted into the female portion; and a center button mechanism(20) mounted in the female portion and having a center push button(21), a spring(25) arranged between the center push button and a spring base(22) and at least one flexible leg(23) whose lower end is connected to the spring base, the flexible leg having a catch that interlocks with the catch on the male portion when the male portion is inserted into the female portion, wherein when the center push button is depressed, the spring compresses and causes the flexible leg to be bent and released from the catch on the male portion which allows the locking tab to be depressed so that the male portion is ejected from the female portion when the locking tab is depressed by the central push button sufficiently to clear the recess in the female portion.
