摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome a defect of a metal halide arc discharge lamp of previous technology, to improve a structure for mounting the arc discharge lamp, and to provide an electrically insulated mounting structure.
SOLUTION: A mount is provided with a flare having a barrel part; a frame having a clip attached to the barrel part; a first and a second straps spatially apart from each other; and an arc tube. The frame has a first side rod and a second side rod spatially apart from each other by 180°, distant edge parts of the side rods are attached to the clip, and the side rods each have prescribed lengths. The first and second straps joint the side rods positioned between the near and distant edge parts of the side rods, and the arc tube is fixed between the first and second straps.

摘要： A mount ( 10 ) for a metal halide arc discharge lamp has a flare ( 20 ) including a barrel portion and a frame ( 32 ) comprises a clip ( 40 ) attached to the barrel portion ( 30 ). First and second side rods ( 50, 60 ) spaced 180° apart have distal ends ( 70 ) and proximal ends ( 80 ), with the distal ends being attached to the clip. First and second spaced apart straps ( 90, 100 ) connect the side rods intermediate the proximal ends and distal ends. An arc tube ( 110 ) is fixed between the first and second straps. The proximal ends diverge outwardly and engage the inner surface of a dome ( 14 ) to position one end of the mount. The barrel portion includes two sealed lead-in wires ( 120, 130 ). The arc tube includes an electrode ( 140, 150 ) in each end ( 140 a, 150 a). No electrical connection is made to the frame whereby the frame is electrically isolated.

摘要： A mount 10 for a metal halide arc discharge lamp 8 with a flare 20 including a barrel portion 30, comprises a frame 32 comprising a clip 40 attached to the barrel portion. Substantially parallel side rods 50 and 60 each have a distal end 70 attached to said clip, and a proximal end 80. First and second spaced apart straps 90 and 100 connect the side rods at positions between said proximal and distal ends, and an arc tube 110 is fixed between the first and second straps. Preferably the frame assembly is electrically isolated and provides only support for the arc-tube. The arc tube includes an electrode 140 and 50 in each of its ends 140a and 150a, said electrodes connected to two lead-in wires 120 and 130 passing through said barrel portion. Preferably the proximal ends of the side rods diverge outwardly with a spring-like action to engage a dome portion 14 of the lamp envelope 12.

摘要： A mount assembly (20) for a lamp has a glass stem (22) having a first portio n (24) that is tubular and has an outside diameter D2 and a second portion (26) formed as a pinch seal with at least one dimension greater than D2. A substantially C-shaped clip (10) i s mounted upon the first portion (24). The C-shaped clip (10) has a given height H and an inside diameter D that is smaller than the outside diameter D2 whereby the clip (10) frictionally engages the first portion (24). A pair of substantially oppositely located cutouts (12, 14) is formed in the clip (10), each providing an extending flap (16, 18) projecting away from th e clip (10). The clip is positioned on the first portion (24) such that at least a part of sa id second portion (26) is contained within the cutouts (12, 14). A first frame member (28) is affix ed to the flap (16) and a second frame member (28) is affixed to the flap ( 18). This assembly accurate supports the structure and prevents rotation of the mount assembly.

摘要： A high intensity discharge lamp has a light transmissive envelope and an arc tub e located within the envelope. The arc tube contains an arc generating and sustain ing medium as well as electrodes. A flare is sealed to the lamp envelope and the fla re includes two electrically conductive lead-ins sealed therein, each of the lead-i ns having a given diameter. A mica heat shield comprising a planar mica disc fricti onally engages the lead-ins, the mica disc having a pair of lead-in receiving apertures therein, the receiving apertures having a diameter greater than the given diameter and ea ch having an oppositely extending, radial slot extending therefrom, each of the slo ts having a width less than the given diameter. The mica heat shield is positioned on the lead-ins closely and adjacent to the upper surface of the flare by having the sl ots in frictional engagement with the lead-ins.
