The flat piece of polymeric material has shaped portions in a lower edge that fit over respective selected parts of the mask, and elongate tabs (95) that extend from each side and are inserted into respective guides (97) on the head harness (7, 8) of the mask to cause the flat piece of polymeric material to adopt a curved configuration and locate the visor portion in front of the eyes of the wearer. The tabs (95) can slide in the guides (97) to permit the eye-wear article to be moved out of engagement with the mask and onto the top of the wearer's while the mask is being worn, without disturbing the position of the mask on the wearer's face and without affecting the respiratory protection provided by the mask.

摘要： A cold weather breathing device that protects the face including the mouth and nostril area from direct exposure to the external environment, prevents a user's goggles from fogging in cold environments, and keeps moist exhaled breath away from the user's face. In a preferred embodiment, the device is configured to provide separate breathing channels for exhaled air from the mouth and nose. To promote ease of cleaning, the breathing device can be attached to a head garment with a simple interlocking design that allows its removal and separate cleaning. The breathing device provides a nose-channel-forming member and mouth disc that are mounted on the head garment and inset into a mouth-channel-forming member which is thus attached to the head garment.

摘要： A mask and harness system for use in providing breathing oxygen and protection from pollutants for the eyes and respiratory system as might be encountered in high altitude aviation environments. In one preferred embodiment, the mask system has a face seal, a soft flexible lens, a pneumatically-actuated harness, and a regulator with microphone to control the flow of oxygen and to facilitate communications in aircraft flight decks and other aircraft compartments. The system is designed for required five-second donning with one hand and because of the flexible lens, is capable of storage in the relatively preferred on crowded flight decks. It is connected to an oxygen source and, optionally, with aircraft communications. The regulator controls the flow rate of oxygen to the wearer based on altitude and physiological requirements. The regulator includes a valve for purging the condensation-prone moist gases from the lens area and provides positive pressure in the mask. A second preferred embodiment molds the lens and mask seal of a single material having sufficient optical quality and flexibility to accomplish both purposes.

A flexible cover covering the head is fixed in leaktight manner to the single strap or to the top strap of the harness, and it is also fixed to the mask; it is transparent, at least in a portion facing the eyes when the equipment is being worn.

摘要： A helmet is particularly well suited for cold-weather use. The helmet includes a jaw shield that is detachable from a head portion. A breathing mask connects to the jaw shield via a mask adjustment mechanism that selectively axially moves the breathing mask toward and away from an inner surface of the jaw shield to precisely and accurately position the breathing mask against the nose and mouth of the helmet's wearer. A spring-loaded quick-release tinted shield is controlled by a lever that selectively raises and lowers the tinted shield. An eye shield pivotally connects to the helmet and is disposed in front of the tinted shield. An eye shield heating system on the eye shield electrically connects to the head portion of the helmet to provide electric power to the heating system.
